Junior - Weekly email - Thursday 1st April

Dear Parents / Carers

It has been a strange term with a mix of home and school learning. However, staff and children have risen magnificently to the challenge and we are so proud of how well the children have managed. Thank you to all the staff for their tireless efforts in teaching and looking after the children so well throughout lockdown and on returning to school. We would also like to thank you, our parents, for your support during such a difficult time and doing such an amazing job in home schooling your children. We are certainly looking forward to a good rest and we hope the glimmer of sun we saw this week might make a return so we can get outside and enjoy some fun over the holidays. We would like to wish you all a happy and safe Easter and look forward to seeing you on our return to school.

Accident Free in CSG - Calling all parents who drive to school

Now that the weather is improving please consider your plans for getting to school. Driving to and then parking in the local car parks or village centre followed by a walk will really benefit your family and improve the safety around each school site for all of the children.

Walking or parking and walking each day is really good for your families health and well being. It is a great opportunity to talk with your children, get some exercise and see the beautiful area where we live. Why not try out a few routes over the holidays? Please try this new approach for the beginning of the new term. Thank you

Environmental Area

After Easter the children will be working in the raised beds in the Environmental Learning Area. Mrs McAuley and Mrs Crosbie with her son Adam, have been working on the beds the past few weeks and now we just need a little extra topsoil to finish off the beds ready for planting.

If any of you have any spare (bagged) top soil or compost that you would be able to donate it would be very much appreciated. If you could contact the School Office we can arrange drop off times to suit you over the Easter holiday. After Easter we shall also be looking for donations of scented plants such as lavender, curry plants and mints so we would love to hear from you if you had any spares or could donate some plants to the school.

Many thanks. Mrs Coleman

COVID Guidelines and School environment

We are continuing to ask for your support with keeping year group bubbles separate from each other and request that you follow all procedures as set out in the letters and information we have already shared.

Please ensure you keep the hands, face, space rules and keep two metres apart during drop off and pick up each day. Please remember that all three gates to the Junior site are open and you are welcome to use any of them. If you are unable to socially distance at one of the gates, please plan to use a different gate.

All staff will be wearing a face mask or visor and we encourage parents to do the same. If you need to approach a member of staff, please wear a face covering.
