Junior - Weekly email (sent Friday 4th October)

Dear All
Year 6 had a really interesting day on Tuesday learning a lot about life in Ancient Greece. Despite the rain Year 4 managed to enjoy the Basketball festival at Amersham School and Year 5 represented our school at the Village Church Songs of Praise service also on Tuesday.
Accident-Free in CSG - Another big thank you to everyone who is parking away from Parsonage Road and not obstructing driveways in Hillside Close and Lagger Close. We will be starting Walk on Wednesdays (WOW) next week. WOW letter is on the website here - this letter includes information about being entered in a prize draw for Sports Direct vouchers if you walk every Wednesday! If the children walk to school on Wednesdays they can wear their trainers.
Staff Vacancies - we are currently looking to employ a lunchtime Kitchen Assistant, for five days a week, at our Junior School Site -  job share would be an option for this role.  We are also looking for a School Cleaner for two days a week. If you are interested in either role please contact either school office for more details.
Head lice - we are continuing to have cases of head lice in school. Please remember to check your child's hair regularly and treat as required. Many thanks
Menu changes - update from St Josephs Kitchen - we have now completed the first 5 week cycle of the current Autumn and following feedback have made some small changes. The following recipes will no longer be made using vegan cheese. The dishes remain vegetarian, but are no longer dairy free.
Three dishes have now been altered
  • Vegan Mac 'n' Cheese (Week 2)
  • Vegan Cauliflower & Broccoli Mornay (Week 5)
  • Vegan Macaroni Cheese (Week 1)
The menu and allergen sheets have been updated - copies are available on the website here
ParentPay - a few parents have asked so to clarify when we use a Voluntary Donation setup for items on ParentPay. We will make a suggestion as to the amount that we need each parent to pay to cover costs for these events but as parents may wish to pay more or less, than the suggested amount, there is some flexibility in the payment set up. You should be able to type in the amount that you wish to pay for the workshop/ event. These items may still be visible in your Items payable screen but it is possible to check your payment history. There is a new website page with guidance on ParentPay here
