Junior - Weekly email sent Friday 29th November

Dear all

The School Council have been asking all of their classes which charity they would like to support on our Christmas Jumper day next month. Minutes of their meeting and details of the short list are on the website here. The charity that has been chosen by the children is Rennie Grove Hospice Care. On Friday 13th December we are asking anyone who would like to support this charity to bring in a donation and in return they may wear a christmas jumper or decorate their school jumper. Thank you to the School Council. Lots of children have been following the School Council's Politeness Code that is also described in their minutes.

Basketball at DCHS - a team of Year 5 and 6 children took part in a basketball competition this week organised by the Sports Partnership team. They played with a good team spirit and we are looking forward to their match report. Thank you to Mr O'Sullivan for supporting and managing this team.

Reading Record letter - please take a moment to read this letter that gives details of how we use Reading Records in school and and how you can support our focus on celebrating Reading at school.

Residential trips - coloured paper copies of the consent and medical forms for these two trips have been sent home this week. Blue for Woodrow and Yellow for France. These are the forms that we need to take on the residential visits so please can you complete and return them by the end of term if possible. We are still finalising the costings for the PGL Hastings trip.

Data Collection Sheets - also sent home this week are sheets giving details held for children on our pupil information system (SIMS). Please can you check this data and return the sheets to the office - please note any changes that need making or return an initialed / signed copy if data is correct. This version only lists work emails.
