Junior - Weekly email (sent Friday 22nd November)

The Year 4 Romans put on a wonderfully vibrant display with their costumes on Wednesday. well done to them all for their creative and inventive costumes. we hope that the children learned lots about the Romans and their way of life. Thank you to the Year 4 team for running this workshop day.

Drama Club - apologies from Mrs Golding but Drama Club has now stopped for the term - work commitments permitting she hopes to restart the club next term.

 

Relationships education - a summary document provided by the Dept of Education has been added to the Curriculum section of the website here. This complements the new school SRE policy that was discussed at the Class Parent Reps meeting with Mrs Peal last week. 

 

Christmas Lunch - allergen information has been added to the website here. Please remember that we need lunch orders in by Monday 25th November. Please could you complete Google form or return paper copy even if your child is going to bring a packed lunch on the 11th December.

  • Breakfast Club in the ATA Room with Mrs Rock and Mr Shankland - 08:00 to 08:35 (Invited pupils only)

  • Maths Club in the IT Suite with Mrs Crosbie - 08:15 to 08:45 (Invited pupils only)

  • Violin & cello lessons in the IT Meeting Room with Mrs Priestley am 

  • Reading club with Miss Warner in IT Suite - now  open to all year groups 

  • Choir with Miss Thorn in Maple class at lunchtime - open to all year groups

  • Pets as Therapy - Tales with Trixie - 13:30 to 13:30 for invited children  

  • Drum lessons in the IT Meeting Room with MD Drumlab - 14:00 to 15:30

  • Football Club with PFO starts after school in the Main Hall for all year groups - 15:45 to 16:45 (teachers will take children over to the hall where they will then be supervised by PFO)

  • French Club with Little Language Academy starts after school in the ATA Room for all year groups from 15:30 to 16:30

  • Year 5/6 Basketball event at DCHS (selected pupils) - 4pm-6pm - letter.  

 

Wednesday 27th November 

  • Walk on Wednesday wear your brightest waterproof - children walking to school may wear trainers today

  • Maths Club in the IT Suite with Mrs Crosbie - 08:15 to 08:45 (Invited pupils only)

  • Flu vaccinations in school for all year groups (where consent has been given_ - letter with details here  

  • Woodwind lesson in the IT Meeting Room with Mrs Wayman - 09:30 to 10:30

  • Menu change from roast pork to Roast Gammon (may contain sulphur dioxide)  

  • Mindfulness Club with Mrs Franklin in Maple class at lunchtime - open to all year groups  

  • Piano lessons with Mrs Downie in the IT Meeting Room - 12:10 to 15:30

  • Year 5 Maple Class swimming lesson today + Year 6 top up swimmers (14:00 to 15:30) normal PE for Beech class  

  • Cheerleading Club with Lizzie - two different age groups in the Dining Hall straight after school and then Main Hall for older group  

  • Football Club with Mr O'Sullivan starts after school in the Main Hall for Year 5 & 6 children - club finishes at 16:45     

 

Thursday 28th November

  • Guitar lessons in the IT Meeting Room with Mr Norton - from 12:20

  • Cookery club - after school club in the Dining Hall run by Smart Raspberry - club finishes at 16:30  

  • Homework Club in the IT Suite - Teacher Led (for Invited pupils only) - club finishes at 16:30 - children should be collected from the Dining Hall.

Thursday 5th December - Snow White Pantomime in school - letter

 

Friday 6th December - PTA pop up shop for children during the afternoon

 

Tuesday 10th December - Junior School Carol Service Year 3 & Year 4 at the Village CHurch from 13:45 – 14:25 - parents of children in these year groups are invited to attend

 

Tuesday 10th December - Junior School Carol Service Year 5 & Year 6 at the Village Church from 14:30 to 15:15 - parents of children in these year groups are invited to attend
