Junior - Weekly email (sent Friday 14th December 2018)

Dear All

It is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! It has been a busy week in school with lots of Christmas events and activities. On Monday afternoon and Tuesday evening, the Year 3 children shone like stars in their Christmas play- wonderful singing, dancing and acting by all the Year 3 children. The whole school were entertained on Tuesday afternoon by a Drama assembly where the children showcased their own short plays. Thank you to Mrs Golding for organising the assembly and also for running Drama club this term. On Wednesday lunchtime the children enjoyed a special Christmas lunch. Yesterday, the school attended the Village church for two Carol Services for the different year groups - the children sang carols accompanied by the piano, ukuleles and violins and also shared the Christmas story - it was a very festive celebration and the children all performed beautifully. Thank you to all of our musicians and readers. Today, school uniform has been replaced by a colourful and sparkling array of Christmas jumpers in aid of Save the Children.  Donations for wearing a Christmas jumper have raised more than £180.00 for this worthwhile cause - thank you. This afternoon we have been decorating our class trees - do take a moment to see what the children have been doing.

Primary Performance Data - data for the academic year 2017/2018 have been published by DoE this week - details for our school can be found here on the Gov.UK website

Vacancy - we are currently looking for an evening cleaner to join our Junior School cleaning team - details are available here

School Crossing Patroller Vacancy - A school crossing patroller is needed for Chalfont St Giles Village School. We know from experience the best person to recruit a patroller is someone who lives in the local community surrounding a school or who is involved with the school.  It could be a parent, grandparent or neighbour. Do you have a neighbour or know a grandparent who has recently retired that is looking for a part time role in the local area?  We are very flexible and a job share is an option that currently works well at several of our crossing points already. If you are interested or know someone who is – contact Georgina Longley, Crossing Patrol Supervisor on 01494 59669 or email glongley@buckscc.gov.uk
