Junior - Weekly Email (sent Friday 13th December)

Dear all

We have had some lovely musical events this week with two carol services at the Parish Church on Tuesday afternoon and Mrs Downie's piano players giving an assembly in school on Wednesday afternoon. Thank you to all of the children who took part in either event either by playing or by giving a reading in church.

Year 3 have been busy this week rehearsing for their show next week and they are looking forward to performing to their families.

It is lovely to see all of the Christmas jumpers today - thank you to everyone for supporting our fundraising event in aid of Iain Rennie Hospice Care.

Thank you tea and cakes for all of our volunteer helpers - we would like to invite all of our volunteer helpers to join us at the Infant School between 9am and 10am on Friday 10th January 2020. This is for anyone who kindly volunteers in school whether as a governor, parent reader, PTA member, library helper or other helper.

Christmas Holidays Photo Competition - we are running a competition over the school holidays for children to send in one photo that captures their enjoyment of the holidays - this could be a photo of their decorations, or a place that they have visited or just of something that has caught their attention whilst out and about. However, their photo should not show any people, including themselves!. One photo per child should be emailed to with the subject heading of "Photo Comp 2019" and your child's full name and class in the subject line. Remember, no people - any such photos will be rejected! There will be one winner per class and overall prizes for first, second and third place across the school.  All valid entries will be added to our photo gallery on the website here . The deadline is 9:30am on Monday 6th January and winners will be announced during assembly on Friday 17th January. Good luck!

No afternoon parent readers required in school this next week - thank you

PTA Film evening tonight - the PTA have lists of children who are attending the film and they will collect them from class at 3:30pm today and they will escort them to the dining hall where there will be a tuck shop. They will watch the film in the Main Hall. The side gates will be locked  from 4pm today and children are to be collected from the main Parsonage Road entrance at 5.45pm. Please remember to park away from Parsonage Road and walk up to the school and do not block any driveways or pavements. Many thanks for your support and to the PTA for organising this event.
