Junior - Weekly email - Friday 8th April

Dear Parents / Carers

Thank you to the PTA for running Easter events this week and thank you to everyone who donated cakes for the sale today. We hope that everyone enjoys the Easter break.

School meals - the menu for the summer term is now available on the website here. Allergen information is also available on the school meals page here. School meal bookings for next term are now open on ParentMail.

School clubs - details about school clubs were emailed to everyone yesterday. We have lots of new clubs launching for the summer term and details are on the website here. If your child would like to join a school led club please remember that we do ask you to sign up again each term. A few parents have reported that this email went into their spam folders so please do check there if you didn't see the email yesterday.

Jubilee Bunting Competition - Chalfont St Giles Gardens Association is sponsoring a competition for children and young people to design and create (sew, applique, draw or print) jubilee themed bunting flags using recycled fabric - details here

Accident Free in CSG - Please be mindful of speed driving in and out of the playing fields car park. Some people are driving too quickly and need to be mindful that children are around. Please slow down and look out for children. Thank you to those people who are walking safely into our site - your support is greatly appreciated.

Collection for Ukraine - thank you to everyone who made a donation. We collected £321 for the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal

Year 5 PE Day - after Easter Year 5 will have their PE lessons on Mondays again.

Sports for Champions Wednesday 25th May. As part of the visit the children will be taking part in fitness circuits, with the visiting athlete, in which they will be completing as many repetitions of a specific exercise for 1 minute. Children to wear school PE kit on the day please. We are asking for your support by sponsoring the children, and we ask that completed forms and money be returned to the school office by Friday 13th May (in envelopes if possible).  Any funds raised for the school will be going towards the purchase of new sports and PE equipment. The CrowdFunder page for our school is now live at  https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/chalfontstgiles

Football - last game of the season for CSG Juniors - this week we played St Marys School. With a good start we went 1-0 up, with Toby scoring from an assist by Jamie. Unfortunately, St Mary's equalized shortly after. Caden booted it up in the air and  the keeper didn't quite catch it and Aaron got the tap in and scored to make it 2-1 to CSG. Jamie dribbled through most of the team then passed it on to Aaron who scored to make it 3-1. At the start of the second half, annoyingly St. Marys scored to make it 3-2. Aaron had a shot, the keeper saved it but with the rebound Aaron scored to make it 4-2. We celebrated but then let in 2 quick goals with St Marys making it 4-4. With losing hope CSG went into the last minute with our heads down. Kassi took a very powerful goal kick which Aaron volleyed into top left. This brought the score to 5-4 to CSG !!!! Full time. Thank you Mr Holmes for coaching our team this year. It's been a pleasure and we've all had a wonderful time. Match report by team captain, Aaron.
