Dear Parents / Carers
It was lovely to welcome our new joiners for Transfer Day on Tuesday and we hope that Year 6 have all enjoyed visiting their new secondary schools this week.
Thank you to the PTA for running a pre-loved uniform sale today and thank you to everyone who has brought in filled Jolly Jars pots, raffle tickets and hamper donations for the PTA Summer Fun event.
We have another busy week ahead so apologies for the very long email today!
Good luck to the team attending the Oxford Science final on Tuesday - Toby, Harry C and Ronnie will be presenting their investigation "Do Longer Arms Throw Further?"
Year 3 Parents - Please can you send your child in with a plastic bag next week so that we can hand out work and old books for them to bring home. Thank you, Miss Balaam and Miss Payne
Year 6 Dress Rehearsal is on Tuesday 9th July from 1:45pm-3pm. This will be for the Junior School children and for up to 2 adults, per Year 6 child, who cannot make the evening performance on the 10th July. Adults should arrive at the main entrance on Parsonage Road at 1:30. This is the only entrance that will be open at this time. Seat reservation information here
Year 6 Show is on Wednesday 10th July
- Children should be at school for 5:15pm so that they can change into their costumes in class, and be made up, in plenty of time for the start of the performance. Children to go straight to their class when they arrive
- The show starts at 6:00pm in the Main Hall.
- The PTA will be providing drinks in the Dining Hall from 5.15 pm
- The Lagger Close gate and the Main Entrance gate will be open for children to come into school. The Lagger Close gate will be locked for the duration of the show and opened again for people to leave after the show.
- The main entrance gate will remain open during the evening. Please do not park in Lagger Close or on Parsonage Road.
- If you are not attending the show please collect your children from the hall at approximately 7:30pm.
Year 3 trip to Woodrow is on Thursday 11th July - we hope that Year 3 are looking forward to the Woodrow trip next week. Any Year 3 school lunch orders placed for Thursday 11th will be cancelled by the office
Year 6 Bouncy Day is also on Thursday 11th July
- The day will include bouncy castles and water games.
- All children should wear comfortable clothes and be prepared for hot weather, please bring in something appropriate to get wet in, a towel and a change of clothes.
- We would encourage the children to wear long sleeves on the inflatables but due to the warm weather, we understand this may not be appropriate on the day.
- Please ensure that your child has suncream applied before coming to school and they have a hat to wear throughout the day.
- Lunch will be included as part of their Bouncy Day, however, if your child is a fussy eater though please send in a packed lunch.
- Any Year 6 school lunch orders placed for Thursday 11th will be cancelled by the office.
PTA Summer Party is on Friday 12th July
- Tickets and food orders available from the PTA on Classlist - deadline is today
- Children's party is from 4:30pm to 6pm. Ticketed event for Year 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 children from CSG VIllage School.
- Family event 6pm - 7:30pm. All are welcome.
- Gates - Parsonage Road main entrance and The Lagger Close gate will be open for 4:30pm drop off for the children's party. The small wooden side gate by Parsonage Entrance & The Lagger Close gate will both be locked at 4:40pm and kept closed throughout the kids party. If you are late, please go to the Lagger Close gate where you are more likely to be seen to be let in.
- Drop off for Children's Party at 4:30pm - on arrival, children are to come onto the school playing fields. There will be year group areas for them to gather where they can be ticked off on their registers. This is also where you must pick them up from at 6pm.
- Pick up from Children's Party at 6pm
- All children, from Year 2 to Year 6, must be collected from the party by an adult - if this is not going to be a parent then please ensure that the PTA have details of who is collecting your child at 6pm.
- All children must be collected at this time but you are all welcome to stay as the party continues for families. Your cchildren are your own responsibility from 6pm.
- The same two entrances - Parsonage Road entrance and The Lagger Close Gate - will be open, and left open, throughout the family event.

This survey will be closing at the end of today (Friday 5th July 2024) and is for both Infant School and Junior School children. We ask that you complete one survey per family.

Year 6 Production - Evening performance from 6pm-7:30pm. Two tickets have been given out to children. Any spare ticket please return to the class teacher as there is a waiting list for additional tickets. Please stick to only two people attending the performance as we are limited with space.

- Junior PTA Summer Party after school - for CSGVS Year 2 to Year 6 children - ticket and food ordering details are available on Classlist. The summer raffle will be drawn at this event

Monday 15th July - Reports sent home today
Monday 15th July - deadline for meal orders for Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd - we have to send in our order first thing Tuesday morning on 16th July and after this there is no flexibility - so no changes to meal orders for these two days will be possible after 15th July. (Please note that the hot school meal options for these two days (22nd and 23rd) have been cancelled so check that you have something ordered if required)
Wednesday 17th July - CSG Junior Talent Show in the afternoon - details here (this event is for children only but the form will stay open for another week for children to entre )
Thursday 18th July - No Homework Club today
Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd - due to a change of menu to sandwich options all hot meals for today were cancelled a couple of weeks ago - if your child needs a meal on either of these days please check on ParentMail and add a new sandwich option order
Tuesday 23rd July - Year 6 Leavers Assembly morning - Year 6 parents/carers are warmly invited to attend
- 9:30-10:30 Certificate assembly where we celebrate the achievements of Year 6. These will include a variety of awards including the citizenship awards, sports week awards, trip awards for example. Year 5 children will also attend this assembly.
- 10:30-11:00 Tea and coffee break for parents
- 11:00-12:20 Leavers assembly where we will be joined by the rest of the school
- 12:30 Parents leave the school site
- 12:30 Year 6 picnic lunch
Tuesday 23rd July - Last day of school year - early finish at 2:15pm
Thursday 5th September - new term starts today
