Junior - Weekly email - Friday 25th June

Dear Parents and Carers

It has been another busy week at school with so much to fit in before the end of the year! It's lovely to hear about the trips and visits the children have done so far including a visit to GoApe for Year 6, Woodrow High House for Year 4 and a visit by the Wonder Dome for Year 5. Next week the Infant School children will be enjoying a visit from the circus and a wonderful hands on animal experience the following week. All year groups now have trips and visits booked - such a vital part of the school year. Thank you to all parents who have supported us with funding these trips and visits- they make such a difference to the children.

Fundraising thank you - Thank you to all of those parents who have sponsored the school Mighty Hike team to raise funds for Rennie Grove Hospice who are supporting the family of Charlie Mason. We have raised £540 for this deserving charity already.

Accident Free in CSG - Junior School - Thank you to those parking at the playing fields and considerately around the village. It is so good that you are prioritising the safety of the children and the wider community. Please avoid driving and parking on Parsonage Road, Lagger Close and Hillside Close- thank you

Year 6 - next week the Year 6 staff will be taking out groups of Year 6 children into the village to do their pedestrian safety training, This is an important part of their transition to secondary school when they will all be travelling to school more independently. They are planning to go out next Wednesday and Thursday.

SEN Review Meetings - Mrs. March sent out SEN review invites this week. If you were expecting an invite and you haven't received one please check your junk mail and contact the School Office.

Sports week - we are asking that all children wear PE kit to school every day during sports week. If required children may wear a plain white, black or green T Shirt on some days.  Please ensure that your child has a named water bottle each day and has a sun hat in school. On sunny days please put plenty of sun cream on children before school.

Sponsored Walk Days - children may dress up for their sponsored walk day but please ensure that what they are wearing is suitable to be worn throughout the day with comfortable footwear and socks. Link to the Sponsor form is here

Sports Day Update - children may wear house colour T Shirts on Friday for Sports Day as they will be competing in houses. Cook is Blue, Milton is Green, Palliser is Red and Penn is Yellow.
