We hope that all of the Year 6 children have had an amazing week at PGL. We have very much enjoyed being able to share their adventures via the blog here. A huge thank you to all of the staff involved in this trip,
The Year 5 assembly was a highlight of the week. Congratulations to them all for a splendid assembly.
It has been lovely to welcome Year 2 children to our school this week for their transition week and we are looking forward to seeing them in school again on the Transfer day on 5th July.
Mrs Peal leaving collection - we shall be holding some events this term to mark Mrs Peal's time as our head teacher before she leaves at the end of this term. If any parents would like to contribute towards a gift or to send in a card or a message please can these be dropped into the school office by Monday 4th July. Fundraising Event - Year 6 Cake sale and Carnival games to raise money for Autism Bucks! On Tuesday 28th June, Alex, Thomas, Bennett, Luca and Loui in Year 6 will be holding an ice lolly and cake sale on the lower playground starting at 3:30pm. There will also be Carnival games with prizes: Football Shootout and Tin Can Alley. Please bring your change and come to support our local charity!

- Year 3 PE Day - children to come to school in school PE Kit (or something similar / suitable if their school PE kit is in the wash)

Friday 1st July
- Sports Day - parents are invited to attend from 1:15pm to 3:15pm - details - children to wear their house coloured T shirt with black school shorts and trainers - for parents the Lagger Close gate will be open from 1:05pm to 1.30pm after that only the main entrance will be open.

Future Dates
Monday 4th July - Year 3 have outdoor learning workshops during the morning - please ensure children have a coat and old trainers/boots to change into just in case the weather is bad or sun hats if sunny..
Tuesday 5th July - Transition Day / County Transfer Day - Year 6 children to attend their new schools and other children to spend the day in their new September classes. Our new Year 3 joiners will be visiting us for the day. Our current Year 3 to Year 5 children will spend the day in their next year group classes (all Year 3 to Year 5 children are expected to be in school on Tuesday 5th). Our current Year 6 children will be visiting their new secondary schools on that day. Any Year 6 children who do not have a transfer day to attend should not be in school on Tuesday 5th July. This will be recorded as an authorised absence for Year 6 children.
Tuesday 5th July - Open Evening for current pupils and those starting at the Junior School in September 2022 - 6pm to 8pm
Tuesday 5th July - Transition meeting for new Year 3 parents in the Dining Hall starting at 7pm

Friday 8th July - Dress Down Friday - this has come from the school council as a suggestion for the whole school. Children can come to school in their own clothes today - this is not a charity fundraising day - please ensure that children are dressed appropriately for a day at school - so warm and comfortable and sensible footwear please.
Friday 8th July - PTA Summer Fun Day at school from 4:30pm to 7pm - full details from PTA on Classlist
Monday 11th July - Walk to School Week themes:
- Monday - Walking to Notice Nature - how many different signs of the summer can you see on your walk into school? Class teachers will follow this discussion up in class.
- Tuesday - Walking to Keep Fit - wear trainers today and walk safely and swiftly. How long does it take for you to get out of breath?
- Wednesday - Walking to Create Time to Talk - talk together about which you'd rather be - a bee or a butterfly? A flower or a tree? Class teachers will follow this up in class.
- Thursday - Walking to Keep our Roads Safe - practise the Green Cross Code on your walk to school. Class teachers will talk about the Green Cross Code in class.
- Friday - Walking to Reduce Pollution - looking after our planet. Wear your own clothes in all the colours of the rainbow to remind us what a beautiful world we live in.
