Junior - Weekly email - Friday 20th May

Dear Parents / Carers

We have really enjoyed keeping track of Year 5's adventures at PGL via the school blog this week. They have been really lucky with the weather this week and hopefully everyone enjoyed the trip.

Mini Enterprise: Thank you to years 3 and 4 for all your purchases this week and well done to year 6 for all your hard work so far. Year 5 will have opportunities to browse and buy on Monday and Tuesday. Please send in any money in a named envelope and ensure it is handed in to your class teacher.

Literary Festival Competition - Thank you to the representatives from the Literary Festival committee and the library who visited us last Friday and presented book tokens to all our prize winners, There was some super work submitted and all children should be very proud of themselves. There will be a special display of the submitted work in the library for everyone to view.

Literary Festival audio fiction workshop - thank you to Mrs Golding of Quirky Voices who came into school on Tuesday to run a workshop as part of the LIterary Festival

Rotary IT Challenge - Congratulations to Arthur who was joint first prize winner in the Year 4 category of this competition.

Uniform - Shoes - a reminder that uniform shoes are black school shoes. Children should only be wearing trainers on days that they wear PE kit for their PE lessons. If children have lunch time clubs they are asked to bring trainers in to school to change into for their club.

Uniform - Earrings - a polite reminder that earrings are not allowed to be worn in school under our uniform policy. If ears are to be pierced please ensure this is done at the start of the summer holidays so they have a chance to heal before school starts. Any child wearing earrings into school will be asked to remove them.

Lost property - the lost property box in the dining hall is currently overflowing with school jumpers and coats. Many of these items are not obviously labeled. If your child is missing anything please take a moment to check in the box. The box will be emptied at half term and any items not clearly labelled will be sent to a charity or re-used within school.
