Junior - Weekly email - Friday 18th June

Dear Parents / Carers

Huge thanks to the PTA for the lovely Hot Dog lunch today which was very much enjoyed.

COVID Guidelines - as there are rising numbers of cases in the local community with known cases where families are having to self isolate we would ask that we all follow  the Hands, Face, Space, Fresh Air guidelines as much as possible to minimise the risk.

Charity Walk - On Saturday 17th July a group of staff will be taking part in the Thames Mighty Hike walking marathon in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support.

The team have decided that we would also like to raise some funds for Rennie Grove Hospice who are currently supporting Charlie Mason, one of our Infant School  pupils, and his family. Very sadly, Charlie is terminally ill and we know that the support being provided by Rennie Grove staff has been fantastic and as a school community we wanted to say thank you to them in some small way. If you would like to make a donation to Rennie Grove Hospice please use the link below.

You can donate to their JustGiving page by clicking hereDonating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to Rennie Grove Hospice Care, so it's the most efficient way to give - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

We know the family are in support of this fundraising and very much appreciate the gesture.

Thank you from CSG Mighty Hikers
Mrs Court, Mrs Coleman, Mrs Watt, Mrs Haynes, Mrs Dawson, Mrs Draper and Mrs Peal

Year 5 - PE day is swapping to Wednesday next week - Wed 23rd - just for one week only - children attending the athletics club after school on Monday can bring in PE kit to change at the end of the day

Accident Free in CSG - Thank you to those parking at the playing fields and considerately around the village. It is so good that you are prioritising the safety of the children and the wider community. Please avoid driving and parking on Parsonage Road, Lagger Close and Hillside Close

Pick up messages - it is really helpful for the office team if you can tell us your child's full name and class when sending emails about pick up information. Thank you

Arts Week - Just before half term the whole school took part in our annual Arts Week.  It was a brilliant week and the children all worked so hard.  We have put together a blog - link here - so you can see some of the wonderful work each class produced.

Sunglasses - children should not be wearing sunglasses in school unless they have a medical reason for doing so. If your child suffers with hayfever or has prescription sunglasses please can you drop an email to the School Office by letter or by email. Non-prescription  sunglasses should be kitemarked.

PTA Car Boot Sale - please start collecting items for our car boot sale collection on Friday 25th June. Collection points to be confirmed, but similar to the Bags2School arrangements.
