Junior - Weekly email - Friday 16th October

Dear Parents and Carers,

We’ve had another happy and successful week at school but we will admit to all staff being very tired and looking forward to half term. To mark the end of the half term next Friday 23rd October we are planning a whole school Themed Non Uniform Day.

All children are being given the option of coming into school dressed as their 'future selves'. This is inspired by our current whole school literacy book: Here We Are. We have used this book to reflect on our lives and the events that have taken place on our planet recently. One of our activities focused on the job that we hope to see ourselves doing in the future with some of the older children considering the skills and experiences we will need in order for us to achieve it. Your child has talked about this in school so please have a conversation with them to help them decide which outfit best represents them in their future job.

Message from Simon James Director of Education for Buckinghamshire Council

We would like to thank you all for working with schools across Buckinghamshire to support the return for pupils. We know that all of you are keen to ensure that schools and pupil ‘bubbles’ remain open and there is a reduced need for pupils to self-isolate. We currently have over a thousand children within the county who are required to stay at home, and like you we are keen to minimise the impact on pupils and families wherever possible.

You can help with this through ensuring that government guidance is applied in your own lives, and especially when you are at or near your child’s school site. Please make sure that you maintain appropriate social distances (2 metres/three paces apart) whilst collecting and dropping off your children and that you maintain hand hygiene before and after touching playground gates etc.

These simple actions, as well as wearing masks if you need to, will help your child’s school to remain open and that children do not have to isolate at home unnecessarily. This message is endorsed by Children’s Services and Public Health at Buckinghamshire Council as well as primary, secondary and special school head teachers.

Parents Evening - Next week we will be sending out information about our parents’ evenings which are planned for after half term. Please look out for the information and make sure you book an appointment. (Please note these meetings will not be face to face).

Accident Free in CSG

Infant School - Thank you to those parking in Blizzards Yard car park and around the village, rather than drive up School Lane or park on Silver Hill.

Please do not park across Crossing Corner, across the pavement or across Rectory Gardens. This should be kept clear at all times so your children can cross safely and residents.

As part of our road safety campaign, all children have visited crossing corner and have been shown the safest path to follow when coming and from school.

Junior School - Thank you to those who have been parking at the playing fields and considerately around the village rather than driving up Parsonage Road.
