Junior - Weekly email - Friday 10th June

Dear Parents / Carers

Thank you to Year 3 for their fabulous assembly this week. It was lovely to have so many parents join us for the occasion and to see the children's enthusiastic performances.

Year 4 and Year 5 had lovely weather for their outdoor learning workshops with Julie Lloyd-Evans today. We hope that they enjoyed looking at all of the wildlife in our school grounds.

Year 6 leaving independently and phones.- Year 6 children are now able to leave school on their own at the end of the day if they have permission. If they are bringing in a mobile phone to school, please can parents/carers complete and return a consent form. A copy of the form is available on the website here or a paper copy is available from the officePhones should have a name label on and they should be handed in to the school office each morning.

Mrs Peal leaving collection - we shall be holding some events this term to mark Mrs Peal's time as our head teacher before she leaves at the end of this term. If any parents would like to contribute towards a gift or to send in a card or a message please can these be sent into the scholl office by Monday 27th June. Please can envelopes be marked Mrs Peal Leaving

Nursery Nurse Vacancy - The infant school is looking to recruit a Level 3 Practitioner/Nursery Nurse from September. Further details can be found here

Local buses survey - Chalfont St Giles Parish Council is supporting a campaign by local residents for a new bus service to Little Chalfont and Chalfont and Latimer Station. We are working with Buckinghamshire Council and with Carousel and would like to gauge support for this initiative. Please complete our short survey using the link below and encourage other members of your household to do the same. Use this link to access the survey:
https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/csgbussurvey
This survey will also be available in paper format in Chalfont St Giles Community Library. Please note that the survey closes on 24th June. Thank you

Accident Free in CSG - We know we have mentioned before, but please really do think about your speed when driving around the village. Some of the footpaths are ever so narrow.

Mrs Peal will be out and checking the parking on Parsonage Road over the next few weeks.

Road safety - Buckinghamshire Council are inviting residents to mark on an online map any roads that are not safe for children. If you click on the map, you can pin a road and input information to explain what the problem is. You may wish to highlight narrow pavements, speeding traffic or parking issues that make your journey to and from school dangerous.

You can access the map here https://bucks.place/index.php?contentid=98

You can tag on the map which areas of concern you would like them to look at.

PMG uniform update - PMG will be running an appointment system over the Summer months again this year. This has proved popular with parents who have benefited from dedicated time and a member of staff to assist them with fitting and purchasing uniform.  From 1st July all parents wishing to visit one of our stores can book an appointment beforehand by visiting www.pmgschoolwear.co.uk and then clicking on the link at the top of the page.

PMG encourages parents to shop early for uniform and they have a cut off date of 12th August 2022.
