Junior - Weekly Email

Dear All

Thank you to CSG Community library for opening their doors to our Year 4 and Year 5 children on Monday morning. The opportunity to visit and learn more about what is available in the library was much appreciated. It was lovely to see parents in school yesterday learning maths alongside the children. Thank you to Mrs English for organising this workshop session.

Maths in Motion - we are delighted that one of our Year 5 teams has won through to the World Final of Maths in Motion 2018 that will be held on Wednesday 20th June. Schools from Australia, Belgium, China, Dubai, England and Scotland are competing this year - the full list is available on the Maths in Motion website here www.mathschallenge.org.uk  This year the competing teams will be based in their own schools for the day and the action will be captured on webcam. Huge congratulations for getting to the final Yash, Alex, Lucas and Krish and good luck for Wednesday.

Bucks Big Science Final - we are really pleased that we have a team from Year 6 who has been been invited to present their science poster at the Grand Final of the Buckinghamshire Big Science event at BLT Learning Centre, Green Park on Monday 25th June. The standard of competition was very high this year and the CSG team is one of 12 teams to be chosen from over 100 teams that entered so a huge congratulations on reaching the final stage. The team of Eve, Aoife, Anna and Amelia H will be presenting their poster on What drink dissolves egg shell the quickest? and they will also have the chance to attend the STEM fair events during the day. Good luck to them all.
