Junior - Weekly Email

Dear All

We have greatly enjoyed the brighter weather recently and it has been lovely to see so many classes having lessons outside and making the most of our lovely site. Year 5 had an afternoon of pond dipping and Outdoor Learning organised by Julie Lloyd-Evans (our county outdoor learning specialist) and we were delighted that she declared that our pond is in very healthy with a host of wildlife both in and around it.  Each year group will have an afternoon with Julie this term. The Year 6 Sports Leaders have been running a range of clubs at lunchtime including dodgeball and Capture the Flag alongside the more usual football, multiskills and gymnastics clubs.

School website - we have recently upgraded our school website and have some new functionality including an app version of the website that is more smart phone friendly. We are still developing the content and formatting of the information available via the app but if you would like to look at this you can download TheSchoolApp from PlayStore or APPStore then just search for Chalfont St Giles Village School or look for schools near Chalfont - more details available here on the website. Suggestions for Groups and feedback is very much welcomed - please send in comments to the School Office.

Siblings on site - a polite reminder that Junior School children are still having lessons up til 3:30pm each afternoon. Siblings and younger children on site should be supervised at all times and should not be playing on any of the school equipment - ie tyres, trim trails and water wall (this mesh fence on lower playground is not suitable for climbing on). Thank you for your support.

Year 3 - Mrs Court's maths group are trialling the Khan Academy software for the remainder of the summer term.

Year 4 - please note no swimming for Acer this week but they will have a normal PE lesson on Wednesday afternoon. Acer will have a session after half term (Wednesday 6th June) to make up for this and Palm's swimming lessons will now start on Wednesday 13th June and run until Wednesday 11th July.

Year 5 - we hope that you all have a fabulous time on your trip next week and we are looking forward to hearing all about it when you return.

Year 6 - a busy couple of weeks coming up for Year 6. Please note that all gates are open from 08:35.
