Junior - Weekly Email

Dear All

It has been another busy week in school with two year groups going out to PE Festivals, two football matches, Voice in a Million at Wembley Arena for the choir, and a Bake Sale to raise funds for the Outdoor Learning Areas this afternoon. Thank you to all of the parents who have supported their children in all of these different activities. A special thank you to the Year 6 girls, and parents, for their hard work with the Bake Sale today.

School Wrap Around Care - We are planning on introducing wrap around care to cover both our school sites from September 2018. An external provider will run the service and initially they plan to offer a breakfast club from 07.30 and an after-school club up until 18.00. Please keep an eye out in the next few weeks for their marketing material as the details are finalised.

Author visit - letters with pre-order forms for the author visit on Monday 26th March went home this week. If you would like to send in a pre-order form then children should be able to collect their books after the talk and save queuing at the end of the day.

Year 3 - A polite reminder that children should have glue sticks in their pencil cases - preferably named. Thank you.

Year 4 - We are much nearer our target on payments for the Temple trip next week though we are still short by £76.50. Please, if you are able to make a voluntary contribution of £6.75, can you either pay on ParentPay or send in cash in a named envelope by 9am Monday so that we can decide if this trip can proceed. Many thanks.

Year 4 - Neasden Temple Trip - If the trip does go ahead please note that children will need to have a morning snack (usual break time snack to eat before we leave school at 09:45).a disposable, named water bottle to take on the trip; and a packed lunch (which will be eaten when we return to school so this can be in normal lunch boxes/bags)

  • Dress Code – school uniform to be worn. Please note that a strict dress code operates within the temple complex. Specifically, tops must cover the shoulders, chest, navel, and upper arms and skirts/shorts/ trousers (ie leg-wear) must be at least below knee-length. If in doubt the girls can wear their school joggers under skirts and can boys be in long trousers.  Please note that it is customary to remove footwear upon entering any part of the Haveli complex. Shoe racks are provided within the complex.

Year 5 - Hastings Trip - please note that the payment deadline for this trip is next Friday 23rd March. Please can you ensure that payment is made by this date unless you have spoken to a member of the office team or a senior member of staff. Please do contact us if you think that you will have problems making payment for this trip.

Year 6 - Over the Easter holidays we are going to be sending some homework home for the children to revise, in preparation for the SAT's tests in May. It will include spelling, grammar, punctuation, maths and reading . Please support your child with this work which should take roughly 1.5 hours per week. Let us know if you have any questions. Kind regards, Mrs Franklin and Miss Murray

Year 6 - The deadline for hoodie orders has been extended to next Friday 23rd March. Please can orders be in school by then so that we can place the order with our supplier.

Sport Relief Week - children will be doing a daily mile instead of Wake'n'Shake so please can all children wear trainers to school this week.

Sport Relief week - Sports Leaders will be selling Sport Relief wristbands (for £1 per band) on the playgrounds at breaktime

Pick up arrangements - please can emails about changes to pick up arrangements be sent in by 12 noon at the latest and give full name of child(ren) that the message relates to. If parents use a different email address with just a first name it can take time to track down to who the message refers. Some days there may be only one person in the School Office. In these cases we cannot guarantee that message sent later in the day will be picked up and passed on to class teachers. Thank you.

Toys in school - please note that children are not to have slime in school - the children have been told this in assembly.
