Junior - Weekly Email

Dear All
Arts week - we have had a lot of creativity in school this week with each year group focusing on a different artist and copying their style of painting or drawing. Thank you to Mrs Burge for organising this side of  the week. We have also had the Music and Arts performances - both for the school yesterday afternoon and for parents last night. A huge thank you to Mrs Court for organising this side of Arts Week and thank you to all of the children for their performances, Well done to you all.
Cakes in class - it is lovely when children bring in cakes for their class to celebrate birthdays. This is an optional thing to do but please can we ask that no large cakes are brought in to school. Only indiviual cakes or wrapped items please and never anything containing nuts. Many thanks for your support,

Class Trees Project - the latest update on our Tree Project has been added to the school website here
Thinking Skills Day - four children were chosen to go to St Mary's School in Gerrards Cross yesterday for their annual Thinking Skills challenge morning. They, and Miss Sells, took part in a range of challenges during the morning and the children won a Jenga game as second prize winners. Well done to all of them and we will put some photos up on the blog soon.
Pick up from clubs - a polite reminder that all school side gates are open until 17:00 on club nights. Please do not use the staff car park at pick up time. Thank you.
Changes to pick up arrangements - please can you ensure that emails re change of collection arrangements are sent to the School Office by 12:30, at the latest, on the relevant day. We cannot guarantee that late afternoon phone messages will be passed on to teachers though we will always try our best especially in an emergency. Thank you.

Parents Evening - a reminder that the booking system will close at midnight on Monday 26th February. Please ensure that you have made your booking with your child's teacher by then.
Staff Vacancies - we are looking to employ lunch time supervisors on both a full time and casual basis at our Infant School site and Kitchen Assistants for both maternity cover and on a casual basis at our Junior Site. Being on our casual staff list means that we would like to call on you to cover lunch time staff absences or when additional staff may be required. Starting salary would be from £7.83 per hour. Please contact either school office for more details if you or someone you know might be interested.

Year 3 - Shortenills Stone Age Activity Day -  Children are to be dropped off at Shortenills Centre between 08:35 and 08:50 on Tuesday morning. Shortenills have confirmed that the Stone Age day activities will end at 15:30 so that is our pick up time but if you have other children to pick up from the Junior School or Infant School there is the option to pick children up before or after that time but no earlier than 15.00 and no later than 15.45.  We would urge you to contact other parents to organise car sharing for the reasons already given in previous letters. The more cars attempting to enter the site, the more waiting around there will be hence the flexibility with drop off and pick up times. Please note that we are still £94 short of the donations that we need to pay the costs of this trip and we are currently looking at cancelling this visit. We will do a final review on Monday morning so please can you send in your voluntary contributions by 9am.

Year 4 - Saxon Day - Thank you for the additional payments that have been received over the past few days for the Year 4 Saxon Day which can now be confirmed as taking place.
