Junior - Weekly Email

Christmas Fair - we are all looking forward to the fair this evening. The fair starts at 17:00 and the raffle will be drawn around 19:30. Please note that entrance is only via Parsonage Road gate but please park with respect to our neighbours and do not park on Parsonage Road itself.
 
PE lessons will continue with both an indoor and an outdoor session each week. Please ensure that your child has trainers and PE kit including black jogging trousers and a green hoodie to wear for these outdoor lessons this term and next. The PE overview is available on the school website here if you wish to see what each year group are doing in PE lessons in any given term. PE days are Year 3 Monday, Year 6 Tuesday, Year 5 Wednesday and Year 4 Thursday.
 
Menus - revised menus have been issued by St Josephs kitchen. If your child has allergies please note the following information from St Josephs: "We are finding that the factories are adding "may contain Nuts" to their allergen sheets more often now. We have noted these on our allergen sheets. Children with nut allergies should therefore refrain from the products that are highlighted that may contain nuts.
 
PTA hot dog lunch is on Friday 15th December, it’s always a lovely lunch for the children and a nice way to round up the term, please find attached an order form for your child’s choice, please ensure all ordered are in the PTA box by next Friday 8th December so we have time to order sausages form the Butchers at this very busy time of year! Many thanks, The Junior School PTA.
 
Next Second Hand Uniform Sale is on Friday 15th December (08.45 to 09.15) in the dining hall . Donations of good quality, secondhand uniform, P.E kit, school shoes and trainers are always welcome. Donations can be handed in to the School Office. We will also have a limited quantity of Pencil cases containing everything your child needs to be fully equipped for school.  Large pencil case- £5.00, Small £3.50. Pencil cases can also be ordered from the School Office.

Christmas Post Box - the Christmas post box will be outside the School Office next week should your child wish to write cards to their friends. Please can you ensure that your child's cards are clearly marked with recipients full name and class so the Year 6 post-people making the deliveries can can read them.
 
Thank you tea/coffee morning: We would like to invite all of our parent helpers, readers, class reps, governors and PTA committee members to join us for tea/coffee on Friday 8th December between 08:45 and 09:30 at the Infant School. Please let the School Office know if you able to attend.
 
Year 3 - no readers this week please whilst Year 3 are rehearsing their play.
 
Year 4 - Roman Day - a huge thank you to Mr Brown, Mrs Miall and Ms Morris for coming in to school to help out with the craft activities.

  • Maths Club in the IT Suite with Mrs Crosbie - 08:15 to 08:45 (Invited pupils only)
  • Violin lessons with Miss Burvill in the IT Meeting Room - 09:50 to 10:40 approx
  • Year 4 to attend Songs of Praise Service at Village Church – parents welcome to attend (11:30am service) 
  • Drama Club with Mrs Golding in Main Hall - Years 5 and  6 session 12:20 to 12:50 and Years 3 and 4 session 12:50 to 13:20 (Year 3 and 4 drama club members please go for first lunch)
  • Cello lessons with Mrs Tullie in the IT Meeting Room - 14:00 to 15:30 approx
  • Note - no choir on today - finished for the term
  • PFO Football Club with PFO in the Main Hall - club finishes at 16:45 (last PFO club of term)

 

Wednesday 6th December

  • Walk on Wednesday - Winter Scarf Wednesday! If the children walk to school on Wednesday they can also wear their trainers.

  • Piano Assembly with Mrs Downie's pupils - 13:30 to 14:00 in the Main Hall - parents of players are invited to attend this assembly - please inform the School Office if you are able to attend (children to rehearse with Mrs Downie in Main Hall at beginning of lunch break).
  • Skipping Club with Miss Balaam in Main Hall - 12:20 to 12:50 - no PE kit needed just bring your trainers
  • Year 5 Swimming lessons for Beech class (pm)
  • French Club with Little Languages Academy (for Year 3 and 4 only) in Oak class - club finishes at 16:10
  • Note - no football club on today - finished for the term

 

Thursday 7th December

  • MandM Productions present Jack and the Beanstalk - Junior children to watch performance starting at 10:50 (thank you for payments - donations can still be made towards the cost of this production)
  • Spanish Club with El Club Espanol in Art Room - 12:50 to 13:20 (children in this club to go for first sitting of lunch)
  • Guitar lessons with Mr Norton in the IT Meeting Room - 13:20 to 15:10 (for children who have signed up with Bucks Learning Trust Music) sign up online here 
  • Pilates Club with Mrs Stephenson in the Main Hall - club finishes at 16:30
  • Homework Club in the IT Suite - Teacher Led - club finishes at 16:30 (Invited pupils only)

 

Friday 8th December

  • Breakfast Club in the ATA Room with Mrs Rock and Mr Shankland - 08:00 to 08:45
  • Thank you tea/coffee for Junior School parent helpers, PTA Committee members, library helpers, governors etc - to be held at the Infant School 08:45 to 09:30. Please let the School Office know if you are able to attend

  • Judo Club with AS Judo in Main Hall - 12:20 to 12:50 
  • Woodwind lesson with Mrs Wayman in the IT Meeting Room - 13:20 to 14:00
  • No Golden Time - Class Tree based activities - parents who have signed up to help please sign in at the School Office for 3pm start. (Note - only main gate is open until 15:20 and children will be dismissed from class at 15:30 as normal)
  • Street Dance Club with Tuffney Dance in Main Hall - club finishes at 16:30 (TBC if on this week or not)

Wednesday 13th December - Junior School Carol Services at Village Church pm - School Carol Service at Parish Church: Y3/4 - 1:45pm to 2:25pm in Parish Church; Y5/6 2:30 to 3:15pm. Parents welcome to attend service for their child's year group.
 
Friday 15th December - NSPCC Christmas Jumper Day - both schools will be celebrating Save the Children's Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 15th December. In return for a £1 donation to Save the Children Fund children are able to wear a Christmas Jumper, or decorate a jumper of their own. This is to be worn alongside their regular uniform grey trousers/shirt/dress.
