Junior - Weekly Email

Dear All
We have all enjoyed settling back into school with our Learn to Learn weeks. Normal lesson timetables will start from Monday.
Year 6 have been busy applying for House Captain roles and these were announced today.  Year 6 have also had a Careers Day during which relatives of both pupils and staff came in to talk to Year 6 about their jobs. Special thanks to Miss Sells's daughter who brought her car (a Camaro) to illustrate her talk on motorsport engineering and to Mrs Wood who came in, at very short notice, to talk about her work in the world of IT.
Junior School clubs - details of the external clubs for this term have been sent out. Details of school run clubs with a timetable for the term will be sent out early next week. The clubs do change each term and you are only signing up for the Autumn Term. There will be a new set of clubs and sign up sheets for the Spring Term.
  • All school gates are open until 5pm when after school clubs are running.
  • All school gates will be open just before 8am on mornings that before school clubs run.
  • Please make use of the Recreation Area car park by the tennis courts off Bowstridge Lane and the footpath to either Hillside Close or Lagger gates if possible.
  • Please avoid parking in Parsonage Road.
  • Please park with consideration for our neighbours and avoid blocking driveways and entrances.
  • Please do not use the staff car park when dropping off for before school clubs or when picking up. It is only a small car park and additional cars can block staff from getting in or out of the car park.
  • Please collect your child from the club location unless informed otherwise.
  • If your child is not able to attend a club on a particular day please can you inform the club leader in writing or contact the School Office before the time that the club is due to begin.
  • No dogs on site.
Mrs Nash - we are delighted to announce that Mrs Nash had a baby boy during the summer holidays. Mum and baby are both doing well.
Parent Information Meetings - we hope the meetings for parents were helpful and informative. Copies of Topic Guides and other presentations will be added to the class pages for the appropriate year groups - Year 3Year 4Year 5 and Year 6.

During the coming year each class would really appreciate donations of: Tissues for the classroom, (Appropriate) Newspapers for painting and Old shirts to use as painting aprons.

Sickness and diarrhoea - please can we remind you that if your child is sick or has diarrhoea they should not return to school until 48 hours after the last episode.

Year 3 and year 6 Workshops - thank you to parents who have made contributions towards the costs of either the Year 3 Egyptian or the Year 6 Greek Day activities. We do not currently have sufficient contributions to cover the costs of these workshops. If you are able to make a contribution and have not yet done so please can you make payment via ParentPay or send in to school on Monday. We will look at the payments received and make a decision re both workshops on Monday.
