Junior - Weekly Email

Sports Week - thank you to Miss Murray, Mrs Crosbie, and Mrs O'Dwyer and all of the members of staff who have helped with sports week. The children have had a very active week and we hope that they have enjoyed the range of physical activities that have been on offer. Special thanks to the sports leaders from CCC for helping us this week as well,
Electronic devices in school - if your child is bringing in an electronic device for use in a lesson or to use after school please can you complete a consent form. If children are seen to be using these devices whilst unsupervised on school premises the devices may be confiscated. Electronic devices form is on the website here.
Party in the Park Tickets - these have been sent home via class registers today. Hope everyone has a fantastic time.
Free Parenting Groups - please find attached the Autumn term’s newsletter including information on the free parenting groups delivered from September 2017.
Staff communication - please can all email communications to teaching staff be made via the School Office email address unless you are replying to an email sent to you by a member of staff or at their specific request. Thank you
PTA, Governors, Parent Reps, Parent Readers and Reading Pool Readers - many thanks for all of the time that you have put in to helping with the children this academic year.  Your support and assistance is always much appreciated.  We would like to invite you to join us at our summer thank you drinks on the morning of Wednesday 19th July between 09:00 and 09:30 in the Junior School dining hall. Please inform the school office if you are able to join us.
ParentPay - minimum amount addable have now been reduced to £2.60. Please can you ensure that you do not have any debts on your child's school meals account. If your child is leaving at the end of this academic year please can you try to have a zero balance at the end of the academic year. We are able to transfer meal balances to younger siblings who are still in the Junior School or we will refund amounts over £5, where we are able to, during the transition period.
School library books - please can all school library books be returned. Books can be dropped off in the red library drop box that is now outside the school office.
Lost property: we accumulate a lot of lost property during each term and sadly end up with a lot of items that are not labelled. Any items in the lost property box at the end of term will be recycled as spares or disposed off via local charity shops or the bin as appropriate. Please do remember to ensure that any items of clothing or kit are clearly labelled.
Hobbies day forms should now all be in and we are putting together the handouts with stall details in the four zones - Dining Hall, Main Hall, Top Playground and Field Adjacent to Top Playground. Once these have been finalised lists will be given to class teachers and a copy will be put onto the sports notice board in the dining hall.
Year 6 play DVD - so far we have received 4 orders for Mr Jackson's DVD of the Year 6 production. Mr Jackson will be filming the evening performance of the Year 6 play from which he will produce a DVD. The cost of this DVD will be £7.50. If you would like to order a DVD please can cash or cheques, made payable to Mr G Jackson, be sent to the School Office by 15:30 on Friday 14th July. Please can these payments be in a named envelope, stating number of DVDs required. If your child is entitled to Free School Meals or Pupil Premium and you would like assistance with purchasing a DVD please inform the School Office. At this price we need a minimum of 40 DVDs to be ordered to cover Mr Jackson's costs.

Year 5 Secondary Transfer - a copy of Mrs Peal's presentation to parents is on the Year 5 Class page on the website here.
Medicines at end of academic year - if children have medicines in school they will be given to them to bring home on the last day of term. If you would rather collect them from the office or if you know that your child will not be in school that day please can you contact Miss Clowes in the School Office to make alternative arrangements.
Monday 10th July
  • Cheerleading assembly - The children who attend Monday cheerleading club are looking forward to performing in assembly today. This assembly is at normal time of 10:20am and parents of children in the cheerleading club are welcome to attend - please can you let the school office know if you wish to join us.

  • Year 6 Dress Rehearsal starting at 09:15
  • Piano and Violin assembly on Wednesday 12th July starting at 13:30 and lasting about half an hour - please let the school office know if you wish to attend  
  • Violin lessons with Miss Burvill in the Star Lab - 13:30 to 14:30
Thursday 13th July
  • Maths IT Club - invitation only - 08:15 to 08:45 - IT suite
  • Spanish Club - ACACIA CLASSROOM - 12:50 to 13:20 (children in this club to go for first sitting of lunch - party week)
  • Homework Club - IT Suite - this invitation only - 15:30 to 16:30 (please note that this is the last homework club this term)

Friday 14th July

Monday 17th July - Guitar and Cello assembly with Mr Jones's guitar students and Mrs Tullie's cello students in the Main Hall from 09:15 to approx 09:45. Parents of this group are invited to attend this assembly. Please can you let the School Office know if you are able to attend 
Tuesday 18th July - Year 6 Bouncy Castle Fun Day
Wedesday 19th July - 09:00 to 09:30 - Thank you tea/coffee for volunteers and helpers to be held at the Junior School
Wednesday 19th July - PTA Hot Dog Lunch (no school meals service today)
Wednesday 19th July - Junior School talent show during the afternoon (for children only)
Thursday 20th July - No Homework Club this week
Friday 21st July - Year 6 Awards Assembly
