Junior - Weekly Email

Dear All

It has been lovely to see the visiting Year 2 children around the school this week. Year 6 have been busy rehearsing their play and we had a fantastic afternoon on Wednesday when author Shane Hegarty gave an assembly about his work.

Lost property: we accumulate a lot of lost property during each term and sadly end up with a lot of items that are not labelled. Any items in the lost property box at the end of term will be recycled as spares or disposed off via local charity shops or the bin as appropriate. Please do remember to ensure that any items of clothing or kit are clearly labelled.

Hobbies day forms should now be in and we are now putting together details of which stall will be where - we have four zones - Dining Hall, Main Hall, Top Playground and Field Adjacent to Top Playground. Once these have been finalised lists will be given to class teachers.

Music assemblies: We have two music assemblies this term - Cello and Guitar assembly will be held on Monday 17th July starting at 09:15 and lasting for about half an hour - Piano and Violin assembly on Wednesday 12th July starting at 13:30 and again about half an hour. Parents of children playing in these assemblies are welcome to attend but please let the school office in advance

Cheerleading Assembly: The children who attend Monday cheerleading club are looking forward to performing in assembly on Monday 10th July. This assembly is at normal time of 10:20am and parents of children in the cheerleading club are welcome to attend - again please can you let the school office know if you wish to join us.

Head lice: we have had reported cases of head lice in school - please remember to check your child's hair regularly and treat any eggs or lice that you find.

Readers in class: as we have both Sports Week and County Transfer Day this week we will not require any readers to come in to school this week. Parent readers and all other helpers are invited to join us for tea or coffee on Wednesday 19th July if you are available. In the Dining Hall at the Juniors School from 09:00 to 09:30. Please let either office know if you are able to attend

Sports Day: please note that there will be no PTA cafe during sports afternoon. There will however by a parents Egg and Spoon Race!
