Junior - Weekly Email

On Tuesday, a Year 4 team went along to the Davenies football festival.  Despite a few showers they enjoyed their afternoon of matches and put on a great team effort.  Many thanks to parents for transporting the children and to Miss Balaam for organising and managing the team.

Thursday - Year 3 Celtic Harmony trip:  Year 3 traveled to Hertfordshire to visit the Celtic Harmony Camp to learn more about the Stone Age. Thank you to all of the parent helpers and Year 3 staff who made this trip possible. (See the school blog here for some photos of the day)

Thursday - Year 4 assembly:  Thank you to all of the children and Miss Balaam, Miss Bowden and Mrs Jackson for a fantastic assembly.  We hope that the parents enjoyed learning about some of the things that Year 4 have been doing in class this term.

Also on Thursday, the U11 football team played a league match against St Marys' in Beaconsfield. The end result was a solid 3-1 win to St Giles - we were 3-0 up at half time but eased up a little in the second half  Thank you to Mr Holmes for organising and managing the team and to all of the parents for transporting children to the game.

Church Banners:  The school is helping the village church and Chiltern DFAS with making banners as part of the decorations for the Rejoice arts festival that will be held later in the year.  Children from Years 4 to 6 went down to the church on Thursday to find out more about this project (or check the school blog here.)

New Family Quiz Show:  The Casting Researcher at GameFace Productions in London is currently making a Family Quiz show pilot for ITV and is looking for families to take part.

They're looking for families who love quizzing and have a keen interest in general knowledge.  The family members can be any relation but must be made up of three members that span three generations (kids/parents, step-parents, aunts, uncles/ grandparents).  The Quiz Show is a pilot so won’t be broadcast on TV but will be a fun day for the family and a look behind the scenes to see how a TV show is made.  The company will be doing Skype auditions in the next few weeks and filming will take place outside of school hours in the Easter holidays.  Please see attached flyer for further details.
