Junior - Weekly Email

World Book Day:  It was great to see so many of the children dressed up in their fabulous book character costumes for World Book Day.  Mrs Junak from SchoolAid came in to do an assembly today to explain a little bit about the work that this charity does.  She also explained about Project Pencil.  If you would like to take part in this project there is a flyer attached with further details.
Book Swap and Swap a Story:  These are two separate activities that have been organised by Mrs Court in school.  The Book Swap has been taking place today.  Children donated books and took home different books to keep.  Any books that are left over will be collected by the SchoolAid team and sent on to schools in Africa.  The Swap a Story initiative will be happening in school and gives children a chance in class to discuss stories that they have read.  Many thanks to the parents who came in to help with the Book Swap this afternoon.
Thinking Skills Morning:  Four children took part in the Thinking Skills morning organised by St Marys school in Gerrards Cross.  Zain and Livia from Year 4 plus Aoife and Ayun from Year 5 competed against other local schools in a morning of problem solving and puzzles.  Thank you to Mrs Salmon and to the parents who transported the children to and from St Marys.
