Junior - Weekly Email

Christmas cards:  Please remind your children when writing Christmas cards for their friends, to write their friend's full name and class on the envelopes.  The Christmas post box is outside the School Office. Thank you.
Aladdin:  It was lovely to welcome M&M Productions to school yesterday morning when all of the children had the chance to watch a live performance of the pantomime Aladdin.  Thank you to all of the parents who have made a contribution towards the cost of this pantomime.
Year 5 Workshop - Mexicolore:  Year 5 are looking forward to learning lots about Mexico and their culture when Mexicolore visit the school on Tuesday.
If you have not yet made a contribution, please do consider supporting the running of workshops and performances in school.  A copy of the letter with details as to how you can do this is on the school website here.
Driving in the roads around our school:  Dear All, we have had yet another complaint about parents driving in the roads around our school;  this time about the speed at which parents are driving when they are coming in to drop off children for school.  We do ask you not to drive up Parsonage Road or Gordon Way if possible but to drop children off at the play area car park and walk to one of the school gates from there. Thank you.
Parent Readers and Reading Pool Readers:  Many thanks for all of the time that you have put in to reading with the children this term.  Your support and assistance in this area is much appreciated.  We have a lot of activities happening during the remainder of this term so we are asking that readers do not come in again, to read with the children, until the Spring Term.  We do hope to see some of you at our thank you drinks on the morning of Friday 16th July between 09:00 and 09:45 in the Junior School dining hall.
Carol Services:  Well done to the children who have been practicing their singing and musical accompaniments for the carol services next Thursday.  All of Year 5 and 6 will need their ukuleles in school for this carol service.
Year 3 Production DVD orders:  Please ensure DVD orders are received by the School Office by the end of Tuesday 13th December.  Price per DVD is £7.50 - in an envelope marked with name and class.  Cash or cheque made payable to Mr G Jackson please.  We currently have 10 orders for DVDs which is not enough to cover Mr Jackson's costs.
Year 6:  Year 6 children will be bringing home their recent practice SATs papers, in a brown envelope, on Friday 16 December.

Spring Term Clubs:  details that we have so far are on the clubs page of the school website here.
Junior School PTA:

Dear Parents & Carers,

It doesn’t seem a week ago that we were all enjoying the fun at the Christmas Fair. Our PTA Treasurer has been busy working on the abacus and we are very pleased to announce that the figure raised from the Christmas fair is £3,892.57. on behalf of the PTA we would just like to say a very big thank you to everyone who raided their child’s toy box and book shelves, who rummaged in cupboards for those unwanted gifts, for stuffing pint pots with sweets and goodies, for baking or for just buying one raffle ticket.

We couldn’t have done it without your donations or your help on the night, so well done and thank you for your continued support.
A quick reminder that Hot Dog Lunch forms are due in by Wednesday 14th December.
Also if you are ordering a real Christmas Tree please see the offers from Rowan Garden Centre.
