Good morning

Please find below some further information for Tuesday's Cross Country event:

  • Children should wear school PE kit for the Cross Country event. Children will need to go to Mr O'Sullivan on Tuesday break time to collect a school running vests to be worn over PE kit. It is likely to be cold so it is advisable to wear leggings, long sleeves under PE kit and gloves. Please take warm clothes for between races.

  • Bring drinks and snacks

  • The organisers advise that you should aim to arrive at least 45mins before the race start time (12pm) to allow time for parking and getting back to the start. Children do not need to come into school before the event - they can go directly to Stowe School .

I will let you know if we receive any more information.

If you have any queries, please contact the office.

Regards

Good Morning

Thank you for your consent for your child to take part in the County Cross Country Championships on Tuesday 5th February and for arranging transport for your child to and from the event. The organisers have just sent through some additional information which I would like to share with you:

  • The address of the venue is Stowe School, Stowe, MK18 5EH

  • On arrival at the school you will be guided where to park

  • There will be temporary toilets on site and vendors selling food and drink

  • Parents may bring small pop up tents to shield from the elements and protect clothing.

  • Runners may wear spikes if they have them.

  • First Aid cover is provided by the organisers however if your child uses an inhaler or has any other specific medical needs, please ensure that you take all medication ( including inhalers) to the event.

  • The Year 5/6 races are run over 1,500m and are fairly challenging

  • The start is busy and fast so runners may wish to start in the second row as there will be plenty of time to make it up later.

I will put a list of those taking part in the event on the Sports noticeboard in the School dining hall in case anyone would like to organise lift shares to/from the event.

The organisers have asked for a list of runners to put in the event programme , if you do not want your child to be included , please let the office know.

There may be further updates from the organisers later in the week which I will pass on to you. In the meantime, if you have any further queries about the event , please let us know.
