Strawberry Fayre: A huge thank you to our amazing PTA for running such a fabulous Strawberry Fayre. Thank you to all of you who attended and enjoyed the day in the sunshine. We raised a staggering £6,556.00. Please see the attached letter from our PTA.
Sports Week: The children and staff are looking forward to celebrating Sports Week next week. The children will bring their PE kits home today so that they can come into school wearing it on Monday, Thursday and Friday. On Wednesday the children can come to school wearing their themed outfit. This year our theme is 'my favourite sportsperson'
They will need a filled, water bottle and hat every day with their name on and plenty of suncream (applied at home).
Wednesday is our annual Sponsored Walk which is a highlight of the year and one of our main fundraising activities. For those children who attend our Woodland Manor sessions their walk will be around the field with the residents.
We are waiting for validation from ParentPay before it is up and running. Hopefully this will be done shortly.
Friday is our Sports Day and all children will be having a packed lunch on the Shakman Field afterwards. You are welcome to stay for lunch with your child. If you need to leave please let the midday supervisors know and they will look after your child.
Transition Week: The Year 2 children have had a great week visiting the Junior School this week and it was lovely to see the Year 3 children at the Infant site. They've had a fantastic time swapping classrooms and sites and carrying out a variety of activities based around superheroes including designing and sewing their own mask and making comic strips.
Emerald Assembly: Well done to Emerald Class for their enthusiastic performance this morning! It was fantastic and the children excelled. There were some amazing dance moves too!
Buckinghamshire County Council Transition Day: Tuesday 2nd July is a County-wide transition day. All children across Buckinghamshire are expected to attend their new schools for the next academic year. As in previous years, those of you who have children who are NOT attending either of Chalfont St Giles Village Schools in September 2019 are expected to visit their new schools. They are not expected to be at our school on that day.
We will not require any parent helpers in school on this day. Thank you.
Open Evening: We would like to invite you to the School Open Evening on Tuesday 2nd July.
This is very much an informal occasion where your child can show you their classroom and the work they have done through the year.
The times are 4.30pm - 6.00pm for Nursery and 5.30pm - 7.00pm for the main school. Please feel free to pop in at a time which suits you. Can we please highlight that this is not a formal parents evening where you meet with the teacher, it is a celebration of all your child has achieved over the past year. To access Nursery please walk around the side of the cottage not through the School Hall as the after school club is in there.
Accident-Free in CSG: Deanway warning
One of our school parents was clipped by a car this week as they walked along Deanway. The incident has been reported and the Parish Council have been informed in case they can work with residents to trim back hedges and widen the pavement.
Please do take care, as this speeding and inconsiderate driver could have done considerable damage had this been a young child's head which was hit by the wing mirror.
Meanwhile the cars below have been blocking the Keep Clear, parking illegally on the Silver Hill double yellow lines or parking inconsiderately on School Lane. It is very disappointing that there are so many. Please find alternative parking outside our Safety Zone.
