Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 9th July

Dear Parents and Carers,
This week I was privileged to be in the Year 1 and 2 class rooms when the staff were sharing stories and memories of Charlie Mason (Year 1) who sadly died. The atmosphere at school was somber but there were some giggles, some wonderful memories were shared and we talked. I could not be more proud of the staff who have done an amazing job supporting the children, in Year 1 and 2 in particular, and across the whole school where children have asked questions and shared thoughts and ideas about death and the future.
There will be a Remembering Charlie Fund which I will share with you next week.
We have 3 year groups currently self isolating along with 20 staff. Huge thanks goes to everyone for managing this difficult break in their lives and routines. The children have been so well engaged with their online learning and have been full of enthusiasm. I know the teachers have been really impressed with everyone. We look forward to welcoming them all back into school next week.
End of term
Our end of term does not coincide with the Governments plan to end some restrictions on 19th July. We will continue with our current bubble arrangements until the end of term on 21st July. This will allow us to do all we can to ensure that everyone stays safe and their holidays are not impacted by covid 19 or any restrictions that may be in place. I appreciate your understanding and support.
A message from Chalfont St Giles Community Library

Lunch change

Please note that on the last day of term (21st July), St Josephs will not be supplying the normal roast lunch.  Instead the children will be having Cheese & Tomato Pizza with a Muffin for dessert. (please see our website for the list of allergens).    Please check your account on ParentMail to delete or add lunch where required.  So as not to delete the existing orders for that day, the menu will still show the roast dinner, but we will automatically serve your child pizza and a muffin if they are on the list.
