Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 29th April

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you had a great Easter break and had some lovely family time. It has been so good to have the children back at school, ready to learn, full of smiles and energy.

Today we celebrated Sunflower Day

With outdoor learning being a regular occurrence at our school, the teachers and children were keen to celebrate Sunflower Day! All of the children across both schools spent the day taking part in a huge variety of sunflower themed activities.

Each class planned their own learning for their sunflower themed activities. The children shared ideas about what they wanted to find out or learn about and how they wanted to do it! The excitement at being able to plan their own learning was evident in the huge lists of activities that were made! From sunflower themed scavenger hunts to sunflower inspired poetry and art, the children have certainly had a busy and memorable day!

The children planted sunflower seeds all around our school sites and today also marks the start of our in school sunflower growing competition. The pressure is on for each class to grow a sunflower from a seed, in a competition to grow the tallest one! We look forward to our assemblies where we will view the progress of each class’s sunflower!

It’s was lovely to see and hear the excitement of the children today! If you have a love of gardening or can spare some time to help us improve our outdoor areas, do please get in touch as we are always in need of an extra pair of hands!

Attendance
With the improving weather and the news reporting that there are fewer virus cases around I am keen for every child's attendance to be the best it possible can. Please take a look at this leaflet produced in conjunction with Buckinghamshire Council. It highlights the need for high attendance by all children so that we can ensure they make the best progress possible and enjoy all that school has to offer. Please avoid taking holidays and one off days during term time. If you have a concern regarding your child's attendance please contact the school office so we can discuss this. We will also be in touch if we have a concern. Thank you

PTA Roles
PTA are looking for some new faces to join the team.

Our current treasurer will be standing down in July and we are hoping to get someone to assist her now with a view to taking on the role for the next academic year. The role doesn't necessarily require an accountant but does need someone who is organised, has a reasonable head for figures and can use spreadsheets.

Main duties include maintaining and tracking details of all PTA income and expenditure, preparing the annual financial statement and submitting to the Charities Commission, managing funds for all PTA events (preparing floats, counting and banking money post-event and producing the event profit/loss) and paying 3rd party suppliers.

If you would like to find out more please get in touch with the office, message Michele Jones via classlist or email csginfantpta@gmail.com
