Infant - Weekly email - Friday 23rd April

Dear Parent/Carer,

Welcome back everyone. I hope you had a great Easter break and got the chance, within the restrictions, to see friends and family where possible. Isn't the weather fantastic?- it has certainly put a spring into everyone's step. I am really looking forward to an exciting term ahead- we are currently planning and pulling together our ideas of ways in which we can hold our summer events and visits whilst keeping to the guidance for schools. We will be in touch once these are all finalised.

Earth Day 2021

This week we celebrated Earth Day! Today the children across both schools involved themselves in a variety of activities from learning about sea creatures, pollution and protecting wildlife to finding out about deforestation, ecosystems and carbon footprints! We hope the children came home feeling inspired to learn more and motivated to Restore Our Earth! It is so important that we understand how our individual and collective actions can affect global change. Our Eco Warriors work actively towards repairing and restoring the Earth in the projects they undertake, and everyone can make a difference. Perhaps you could reduce your carbon footprint by creating a delicious plant based meal once a week or make a plan to cut down on products with plastic packaging? Sometimes, the biggest changes can come from the simplest of actions!

Thursday 6th May
The Memorial Hall is being used for the Local Elections on Thursday 6th May, therefore every child will need to bring in a packed lunch on this day

Heroes Stamp Competition
We have registered for the Heroes Stamp Competition. The links for the letter for parents and the entry form are below:

Chilterns Green Gym Project

Details about this conservation volunteering can be found on our school website.

Mrs Byrne

Mrs Byrne is unwell and will be away from nursery for the foreseeable future. We are sure you will join us in wishing Mrs Byrne a speedy recovery.

Student Teacher

Harriet Martin will be joining Year 1 as part of her course from Tuesday 4th May until Friday 18th June.

All Dressed Up

Sadly, the fancy dress shop in the village 'All Dressed Up'  is closing down. If any parents are planning ahead for dress up days it may be worth visiting Mrs Penrose and her team to see what items they may have available in their sale.

Accident Free in CSG - Infant School

Thank you to those parking in Blizzards Yard car park and around the village, rather than drive up School Lane or park on Silver Hill.
Please do not drive up School Lane or park in the Memorial Hall car park.

It’s really disappointing to see people parking across crossing corner and blocking the pavement. This is not very thoughtful and we would appreciate if you could park elsewhere.

If you have extenuating circumstances, then please contact the school so we can try and help - otherwise, please park elsewhere to keep your children safe.
