Infant -  Weekly Email - Friday 15th July

Dear Parent/Carer,

Year 2 Leaver's Assembly
What an amazing show the Year 2 put on this week. They sang, danced and performed brilliantly and it was lovely to see how confident and happy they were on the stage. A huge thank you to the Year 2 team for their tireless hard work in putting the assembly together and supporting the children so well.

Flower Festival
Our church services are always a lovely way to mark the end of term and it was lovely to see so many of you at our Flower Festival. Well done to the children for their great performances. Thank you to the PTA for collecting all the flowers from the children as they arrived at the church.

Hot weather update
We are open next week. The children will be indoors for most of the day, they may go outside to play in the shade during the early morning. We will be making use of the school halls as these are cooler spaces. There will be no PE lessons for the children. Children are to wear their own clothes, we recommend loose, light coloured clothing. No crop tops, opened toe sandals or flip flops. Please make sure your child comes to school with a water bottle and a sun hat, and has sun cream applied before coming to school.

Lunch Monday 18th July
St Josephs are looking to source water melon or ice cream/ frozen mousses for pudding on Monday. We will not have specific details until items are delivered but we will ensure that allergies and dietary requirements are catered for.

Staffing update
We are really pleased to inform you that Mrs Lloyd-Evans, who is an outdoor learning expert, will be joining the school team and leading Forest School for Year 1 for the academic year 2022/23.  She will also be supporting outdoor learning across the rest of the school.

We have also appointed Mr Ballard as a PE teacher to support PE lessons at the Infant School, to support our school staff and to run clubs at both sites.

Medication held in school
All medication held in class for children will be sent home with them on the last day of term. If you would prefer to collect these from the office please can you let us know by the end of Monday. Thank you

Chalfont St Giles Village Show

Chalfont St Giles Show is back! Saturday 3rd September in Stone Meadow after a two year break for obvious reasons. Make sure you buy your tickets in advance online or at various shops in the village (details on the website) as it’s cheaper than on the day. Under 18s go free this year as long as they’re accompanied by an adult. Great entertainment in the main arena, local acts in the community arena, stalls, and a good variety of food and drink, as well as the Competitions Marquee, Honey Show and Wheelhouse Vets’ Dog Show.

If you haven’t already, do take a look at the competitions. They are free to enter and those who come first, second or third in the judging receive prize money.  We’ve already distributed the Colouring Competition templates but if you or your children enjoy baking, growing, writing, photography, or crafts, there are classes you could enter on the day. See our website for information on how to enter and note the deadline for registering your entries is a week before show day but you can edit your choices any time up until then.

Visit www.csgshow.org for full details and we hope to see you in September!
