Infant - Weekly email - Friday 14th May

Dear Parent/Carer,

What a wet week- I am hoping the plants and seeds we have planted will benefit! Huge thanks goes to all parents who have donated soil, compost and money towards or gardening and growing project. You can still make a donation towards more plants and seeds via ParentMail. Once in ParentMail please select 'shop' and 'donations for garden supplies'. We have a delivery of plants coming next week and we're looking forward to planting them and watching them grow.
Next Steps after 17th May
The government guidance for the next steps of relaxing restrictions at schools has been published. We are currently reviewing this and will be in touch before half term to let you know what will be happening at our schools. We are aware that there is a rise in covid cases in parts of the UK and we are watching the data carefully. We will of course only amend our approach if it is felt that it is safe to do so.
Induction day 6th July
At this point the transition day is planned to go ahead on 6th July when children from current Nursery through to Year 6 will take part in the county induction day. This is a county wide decision, taken with support and guidance from Buckinghamshire Council and Public Health England representatives.
I will complete a full risk assessment and specific timings and further details will be shared with you after the half term holiday.
We are so pleased that this event will probably go ahead as it will give children the chance to meet their teachers and visit their new classes/ schools- this will be so beneficial for them.
Nursery induction will take place in September.
School lunches
You are now able to order your child's lunches 6 weeks in advance on ParentMail.  Please note that on Thursday 17th June the Memorial Hall is being used as a polling station so there will be no hot lunches that day and you will need to supply a packed lunch for your child.
Accident free in CSG
Infant School
Thank you to those parking in Blizzards Yard car park and around the village, rather than driving up School Lane or parking on Silver Hill.
I would just like to remind people to please not park or drive up School Lane or the Memorial Hall car park.
We have received a complaint from a resident in Milton Fields about the parking. Please park considerately, leaving space on the pavement for pushchairs and wheelchairs to pass.
CSG Open Gardens Day 2021 - this event takes place on Sunday 6th June 2021, in Chalfont St Giles, from 11.00am until 5.00pm. Tickets cost £6 and give you access to ten beautiful Chalfont St Giles gardens, including Milton’s Cottage garden. Accompanied children under 16 are free.
Tickets are available from the CSG Community Library and will also be sold on the day on the Village Green from 10.30am. There will be plants for sale. Cream Teas will be available from 1pm in the Memorial Hall. Full details here
