Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 13th September

Dear Parent/Carer,

 
School Day
Doors open at 8.45 a.m. with registration at 8.55 a.m. Please ensure your child is at school by 8.55 a.m. which is when the doors close.
 
Infant School Open Days
We are holding tours of the school on Tuesday 15th October and Tuesday 26th November. If you know of anyone interested in a place at our school please ask them to contact the school office to arrange a time.
 
Junior School Open Days
The Junior School are holding tours of the school on Wednesday 23rd October and Wednesday 13th November. If you or anyone you know is interested please ask them to contact the Junior School office to arrange a time. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
 
MEET THE TEACHER EVENINGS
You are invited to meet your class teacher at the times and dates below:
 
Nursery - 5.30 pm Thursday 19th September in Nursery
Reception - 5.30 pm Wednesday 18th September in Sapphire classroom
Year 1 - 6.30 pm Wednesday 18th September in Emerald classroom
Year 2 - 6.30 pm Thursday 19th September in Amethyst classroom
 
Please note these evenings are for adults only. If you are unable to attend the presentation slides will be uploaded onto Google classroom.
 
Clubs
Mini Tennis and PFO Football still have spaces available. Please see here for more information.
 
Birthday Sweets
A reminder that sweets and other foodstuffs for any occasion (eg birthdays, holidays, other celebrations) are not allowed to be given out at school. This is due to the increased severity of allergies and potential allergic reactions. Thank you for your understanding.
 
Dogs On/Near Playground
Please can we remind you dogs should not be brought into the playground under any circumstances, including dogs being carried. If you bring your dog along on the walk to and from school they must be tied up away from the school and not to the fence next to the playground. There is a tie ring by the Memorial Hall. If you bring your dog at pick up time you will need to tie the dog up or give it to someone to look after and come into the playground to collect your child. We will not allow children to walk to the gate by themselves. Thank you.
 
Update from the PTA
The Street Party was a great success raising over £650 for the school - an amazing start to the term, thank you if you supported us (and sorry for the sugar rush!).
 
Oktoberfest: Have you been considering the Oktoberfest? Well, come and join us! If you haven't booked a group VIP table then no worries, just book a ticket and there are unreserved tables where you can join other parents. The Bierkeller Boys (a traditional Bavarian Oompah Band) look fantastic https://bavarianoompahband.co.uk/ and as well as this entertainment there is lots included in your ticket (traditional German grub, beer, souvenir pint glass).
 
PTA key dates
  • Weds 18 September - AGM, 19.30 school hall - join us to learn how we raise money and where it goes.
  • Fri 20 September - Oktoberfest get tickets on classlist
  • 25 October - Spooky Bake Sale
  • 29 November - Elf / Christmas countdown balloons (look out how to reserve on classlist soon)
  • 30 November - Village lights switch on, PTA stall
  • 4 December - Wreath Making night
  • 15 December - Christmas Fayre and Santa Grotto
 
School Support Online Courses
These fully funded CACHE courses with certification, available in levels 1, 2 & 3 are aimed to support parents and carers who are looking to get back into work, by offering them an opportunity to gain the necessary skills for free, for a school support job that fits in with their family. The classes are run online, within school hours and during term times allowing parents to fit the classes in with school drop offs and collections. The deadline to enrol is the 25th September.
