Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 10th September

Dear Parent/Carer
We have reached the end of our first full week and all the children have settled really well into their new classes.
MacMillan Coffee Morning for parent and community volunteers
On Friday 24th September we will be holding our MacMillan coffee morning for parent and community volunteers hosted by Year 6 at the Junior School between 9 am and 9.30 a.m. followed by child protection training between 9.30 am and 10 am. Please can you let the school office know if you are able to attend.
Long hair (below shirt collar) must be tied back in a ponytail or bunches.
Please can all clothes, including coats, be named.
Please can lunchboxes be named on the outside.
Earrings must not be worn in school.
Parent Information Meetings
These will be held in the classrooms. Please see below for the timings. Only 1 person per child should attend the meeting and we encourage parents to wear masks.
KS1 Homework
Homework will start next week and will be sent out on a Thursday. Children will have a maths activity plus 5 squared. Spellings will be available on a Wednesday via Google Classroom. These will reflect the phonics being taught in school as well as containing Common Exception Words.
Year 1 Vision Screening-Thursday 23rd September
Please refer to the email sent Monday 19th July for further detail and to opt out if required.
School Lunches
We have been advised by St Josephs that it may occasionally be necessary to change the menu at the last minute as a result of the delivery shortages which the whole of the country is experiencing.  They are trying to minimalise the impact of this as much as possible by increasing their stock holding so if they are let down they will always be able to supply our children a meal. We will of course notify you of any changes as soon as we know and we appreciate your flexibility during this time.
Dogs are not allowed in the school playground, including when carried. As some children do feel threatened by dogs please tie them up away from the school gates.
The Village school has vacancies for LSAs and for a SENDCo. Please see the links for details.
Harvest Festival
This will be in church on September 30th for the children only. A  further email regarding donations will be sent at a later date.
Accident-Free in CSG
Infant School
Thank you to those parking in Blizzards Yard car park and around the village, rather than drive up School Lane or park on Silver Hill.
Parking permits for Blizzards Yard car park will be sent home next week.
If you have extenuating circumstances, then please contact the school so we can try and help-otherwise, please park elsewhere to keep your children safe.
