Dangerous Roads

Buckinghamshire Council are inviting residents to mark on an online map any roads that are not safe for children. If you click on the map, you can pin a road and input information to explain what the problem is. You may wish to highlight narrow pavements, speeding traffic or parking issues that make your journey to and from school dangerous.
You can access the map here https://bucks.place/index.php?contentid=98

Accident-Free in CSG

Infant School

We have received the following message from a local resident:

I have noticed on my daily walks down to the village the number of cars illegally parked on the double yellow lines along Silver Hill.

Cars coming down Bottrells Lane cannot see the oncoming traffic and vice versa. I have seen for myself on two separate occasions, cars braking sharply and just avoided a head on collision.

I am not too sure what can be done – yes I could inform the traffic officer and they would all be issued with a penalty notice but I am reluctant to take that course of action.

However I think to be fair to residents, dog walkers and others who use the road those parking need to be less selfish.

I would be grateful if you could bring it to the attention of parents that it is illegal to park on double yellow lines unless they hold a blue badge.

The lines have been put there as it is hazardous to park there.

We know we have mentioned before, but please really do think about your speed when driving around the village. Some of the footpaths are ever so narrow.
As always, we are concerned about people driving up School Lane as there is no footpath.
Please park and stride with your children
- it’s much safer all round.

Local Campaign

Chalfont St Giles Parish Council is supporting a campaign by local residents for a new bus service to Little Chalfont and Chalfont and Latimer Station.
