Infant - weekly email (for w/c Monday 24th Feb)

Dear Parent/Carer,

We are very pleased to announce that Mrs March our wonderful Special Educational Needs Co Ordinator has just been awarded the National Award for Sen Co ordination. She has worked very hard over the past year and we are so proud that she has achieved this qualification. I know you will join me in congratulating her. As with rest of the team she really does deserve a half term break.

The Reception children and parents had a wonderful time at their Time Travellers Workshop. They enjoyed the opportunity to show their parents all the exciting things they have been making and learning. Thank you to the Reception team for all their hard work in setting up this event.

Year 1 Sports Festival: The children had a fabulous time taking part in different multiskills activities led by the students from Chalfonts Community College. Thank you to the staff and parents for supporting the children with their activities.

Arts Week: We have had a fabulous Arts week with the children learning different skills. You will be able to see their work at a date to be arranged during the half term. The Chalfonts Community College Dance Group brought their show to us on Wednesday morning and it was lovely to see many past pupils amongst the dancers. A huge thank you to Mrs Watt for organising this wonderful week.

Science Challenge: Please see the attached letter regarding this term's challenge.

Morning arrangements: A reminder that the doors to school open at 8.45am and children should be in school ready for registration at 8.55am promptly. The Infant School finishes at 3.15pm.

Invitation to join a trial of new pollution assessment monitors in our immediate vicinity: Our school has been selected to take part in a trial of monitors to assess pollution levels in the local area. If you are interested please click here and read the invitation.

Termly Topic Packs: These are in the Class pages on the school website.

Menu change for the 24th February: For this day only there will be broccoli instead of peas and sweetcorn and no hash browns.

Bucks Fire and Rescue Message: Please Let Us Through’….

It has been proved recently in a local incident that inconsiderate parking can cause life-threatening delays to emergency service vehicles that are trying to reach a school.

Please can you ensure that you park in designated car parks in the village and avoid the roads around the schools so that we can keep the access to the schools and local houses clear.

Please see our website for more information from Bucks Fire and Rescue.

Footsteps Training: Footsteps is a practical pedestrian training scheme aimed at children in Years 1 and 2 to develop awareness of roads and helps them live safely with traffic. Footsteps is run at school with the help of parents/carers, If you are interested in supporting our children with this, please contact the school office for more information.

CSG Community Library - thank you to Mrs Hoare for visiting us to talk to the children about the village library. The library has kindly given every child a bookmark. They also asked the children which books they would recommend for children of their age. Some of these suggestions will be purchased and will be available to borrow from the library.

Accident-Free in CSG:

Thank you to those who have been parking away from School Lane, the Memorial Hall car park and on Silver Hill.

Mrs Peal has met with the junior road safety officers and they are planning a competition for the children plus some new WOW ideas.  Watch this space!
