Welcome back to school, we hope you have all had an enjoyable break.
The Big Sunflower Project: This project aims to raise awareness of the rare neuromuscular conditions centronuclear and myotubular myopathy by growing sunflowers. 2020 is the tenth year of the project. The sunflower was chosen for its cheery and positive outlook, as if they are on a mission to touch the sky and nothing can hold them back!
We are supporting this project and will be planting our sunflower seeds and running a class competition to see which class sunflower grows the tallest during the Spring and Summer terms. The sunflowers will begin to grow in small pots and will then be planted outside. We will keep you updated with how they get on! More details of this charity and the progress of our sunflowers will be available on the website page here
Science Challenge: Thank you to those who have completed their science challenge and brought them in. There is still time to bring your challenge in, please see the letter attached.
World Book Day: Is on Thursday 5th March and we are having a space themed day. Instead of dressing up the children can wear a reading hat! Please see the attached letter.
Accident-Free in CSG:
Thank you to those who are parking away from School Lane, the Memorial Hall car park and on the double yellow lines on Silver Hill.

Second Hand Book Shop
The PTA will be selling a great range of second hand books for £1 each. The children will have the time to visit the book shop on Wednesday during school hours so if you’re able to please send in £1 in a named envelope by Wednesday.
On Friday 6th March we will be running a fabulous pop-up café from 8am featuring story-time with the teachers:
8:10 - Mr McCune
8:20 - Mrs Nolan
8:30 - Mrs Stainbank
The PTA will be providing a delicious spread of pastries, morning goods, smoothies and yoghurts so bring your children along for a story over breakfast.
The café will be open until 10am for you to enjoy a quieter refreshment after drop-off.
We will also be a second hand book shop with a range of titles available for grown-ups, including cookbooks and popular fiction.
You may have noticed that a number of the reading books are very well used and over-loved. The school are looking to replace a number of these and so have set up an Amazon Wish list with a variety of titles at a wide range of prices. If you would like to contribute please visit
Remember to shop through smile.amazon.co.uk for the school to receive a cash reward for all of your amazon shopping!
