Infant - Weekly Email - Friday 2nd October

Dear Parents and Carers,

It looks like Autumn has definitely arrived with its wet and windy weather. Please be aware that during this period classrooms will remain well ventilated and we will go outside and play. When the weather is cold you can put a thermal/extra layer on under uniform so that your child keeps nice and warm. You know your child best and can make this decision based on your knowledge of how they feel the cold.If you do add a layer please talk with your child about what they can do if they get too warm- ie take off their jumper/talk with an adult in the room about removing a layer. Lots of children (particularly the younger ones) will just keep going without talking about feeling too warm.

Face Coverings

Parents have asked if adults are able to wear masks on site. The answer to this is yes, of course you can. We know that some entrances to the school can get busy and wearing a face covering may help people feel less concerned. If you choose for your child to wear a mask on the way to school, please can parents remove this mask before your child enters the school site.

Children travelling to the Junior School unsupervised must remove their mask before they enter the school site. This should be placed into a sealable plastic bag which your child should put into their school bag before entering the school site. They must then wash their hands upon entry to school.

Reading Records

From Monday 5th October most year groups will be using reading records. If you have a reading record at home, please ensure that this is placed in your child’s school bag/book bag. New reading records will be given to children who have joined us.

Year 4 will be trialling a new online reading record via google classrooms and will not be using the hard copies of the reading records. Please look out for more information from your child’s class teacher.

Staff will handle these books as little as possible, will note the comments you make and let you know what we are working on during reading sessions.

SEN Reviews for identified children

Mrs. March has emailed all parents of identified children with SEN regarding this term's SEN reviews.

Please can you respond to her email as soon as possible. If you do not think that you have received an email from her, please contact the school office.

Accident Free in CSG

Infant School
Thank you to those parking in Blizzards Yard car park (behind the Coop) and around the village,
rather than drive up School Lane or park on Silver Hill.
Please do not park in the Memorial Car Park, across Crossing Corner or across Rectory Gardens.
We know it is hard distancing but please remember that School Lane is a road, so try not to walk on the road and use the marked footpath.

Junior School
Thank you to those who have been parking at the playing fields and thoughtfully on Bowstridge Lane.
Please avoid driving up Parsonage Road and Hillside Close so we can keep children arriving/ leaving school safe and our local residents happy.
