Infant - Weekly Email

Dear Parent/Carer,

Author visit: We were very fortunate to be visited by author Ted Dewan as arranged by the Literary Festival. He gave a wonderful and entertaining assembly to the children. Thanks to the Chalfont St Giles and Jordan Literary Festival for arranging this for us.

Royal Wedding Event: Our children have had the most wonderful time celebrating the Royal Wedding, singing their songs, dressing up and celebrating at the Junior School this afternoon. They returned singing some beautiful renditions of our National Anthem! Thank you to the Junior School PTA for providing sustenance for them all and making the party just a little more special. Please keep an eye out for our school blog for photographs.

National Walk to School Week: This is happening next week, from 21st to 25th May. JRSOs (Junior Road Saftey Officers) are joining us from the Junior School to present an assembly to the children on Wednesday. We will be holding a competition to see which class has the most walkers from outside the safety zone and teachers will be recording numbers of children walking to and from school each day. A  trophy will then be awarded to the best class overall on Friday.

Wishing Trees: A HUGE thank you to all those parents have taken a leaf from their class wishing tree and made a donation. All the staff have greatly appreciated your support and it really does make a huge difference to the education of your children. A sincere thank you from us all.

Nursery Garden: If anyone has any time to spare to help the Nursery tidy up their garden, please pop in and speak to one of the nursery team. They would be hugely gratefully for any volunteers.

Sponsored Walk: Our annual sponsored walk will take place on Friday and children and staff are getting very excited in anticipation of what is the schools major fundraiser! Please do take a look at the sponsorship pages for both sites - the Infant school is currently just edging ahead of the Junior school in sponsorship - please feel free to share the links with family and friends. We look forward to seeing those fancy dress costumes!

Cleaner Required: The Infant School is looking to employ a hardworking and cheerful cleaner, with excellent communication skills to assist our current team between now and the end of term.

We require someone to work from 3.30pm to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, in the main school block to maintain our classrooms and public areas to a high standard of cleanliness. Pay will be based on Bucks Pay Scale 1a/5, from £7.83 per hour.

If you are a self-motivated, committed individual; with a 'can-do' attitude to ensure all our cleaning needs are covered, then this could be the role for you!  Please enquire at either school office for further information including an application form and job description.

Lockdown and Fire Alarm procedures for visitors on site - from time to time we carry out practice Lockdown and Fire Drill procedures to ensure that everyone at our school is clear what to do in case of an emergency situation. Our Lockdown signal is a loud horn sound - if this sounds it is to signal a danger on site such as atmospheric pollution, a potentially dangerous human or animal. When this alarm sounds everyone should make their way indoors.

Our Fire Alarm is a constant ringing bell - this is triggered by our smoke detectors on site. When this alarm sounds everyone should make their way to the Playground - pupils to class lines and visitors to gather on either the main playground near the rear wall or if visiting nursery, in the nursery playground. Thank you.

Accident-Free in CSG:

The Big Day: In honour of tomorrow’s royal wedding, our hedgehog mascots Harry and Meghan are being sent home with two of our children. We hope they have fun.

This week the vehicles below were parked inconsiderately on School Lane. Please find safe and considerate parking elsewhere (without blocking in local residents!). Many thanks.
