Christmas Post Box: From next week the Christmas post box will be in the main reception area should your child wish to write cards to their friends. Please can you ensure that your child's cards are clearly marked with child's full name and class so the Year 2 post-people making the deliveries can can read them.
Birds of Prey visit: Reception had a fabulous visit from the Birds of Prey. They met different types of owl and learnt all about these majestic creatures. They enjoyed being able to stroke them and see them fly.
Science Projects: A huge thank you to all the children who took part. The projects look amazing and we are so impressed with the time and effort which has obviously gone into these. If they haven't already, the children will have the opportunity to show their projects next week and receive their certificate. Please note that the science challenge has now ended.
Walk on Wednesday: Well done to Sapphire class who won our Walk on Wednesday competition this week with a huge 96% of children walking. Most classes had improved on their percentages from last week so well done all. This week the children can wear a decorated winter scarf to school as well as their trainers.
Junior School Christmas Fayre: We look forward to seeing you at this event tonight! The fayre is on from 5.00 pm - 8.00 pm.
Thank you tea/coffee morning: We would like to invite all of our parent helpers, readers, class reps, governors and PTA committee members to join us for tea/coffee on Friday 8th December between 08:45 and 09:30 at the Infant School. Please let the school office know if you able to attend.
Revised Menu: Please see attached a revised menu and allergen sheets which are in effect from now until the end of March 2018. Please note that they have added the following wording to the menu:
"As with all food retailers our suppliers take every care to remove bones from relative products. Fish and meat products may contain bones due to the way the products are manufactured."
They have also stated:
'"We have taken off the Beef Casserole and changed this to Sausage Casserole.
Please familiarise yourself with the allergen sheets. We are finding that the factories are adding "may contain Nuts" to their allergen sheets more often now. We have noted these on our allergen sheets. Children with nut allergies should therefore refrain from the products that are highlighted that may contain nuts."
Impetigo: We have been advised by a parent that their child has impetigo. The NHS website states that they are no longer contagious after 48 hours of treatment or when the sores have dried and healed. As we do have a child with a weakened immune system we would ask you to ensure that the guidelines have been followed before allowing your child to return to school.
Christmas Jumper Day: The Infant School will be joining the Junior School in celebrating Save the Children, Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 15th December in return for a £1 donation to Save the Children Fund. Children are able to wear a Christmas Jumper, or decorate a jumper of their own. This is to be worn alongside their regular grey trousers/shirt/dress.
Christmas Trees for Schools Scheme: Please find attached a flyer about the Christmas Trees for Schools Scheme.
Christingle Service: The Chalfont St Giles Parish Church invite you to join them for their Christingle Service on Sunday 3rd December at 4.00pm.
Accident-Free in CSG: Thanks for parking safely!
It's great to see more families using their yellow permits in Blizzards Yard. Thank you!
A huge thank you also goes to the team of parents who are supporting us with this initiative and keeping everyone safe. I hope you and your children are enjoying our Walk on Wednesdays. We are definitely seeing an increase in the number of children walking on these days. I know the weather is changing but please let's all keep up the great work.
The following two registrations have been passed to us by a concerned resident who has also contacted the local parking enforcement officer. Please find a safe and legal place to park.
