Infant - Weekly Email

Dear Parent/Carers

Sports Week: What a busy, fun filled sports week we have had. The children have taken part in many sporting events and should be very proud of all their efforts. This was particularly pertinent the mini marathon where they really persevered to finish the race. Thank you to Mrs O'Dwyer for coordinating the week with Miss Murray at the Junior School.

Reception trip to Whipsnade Zoo: A fabulous day was had by all. Highlights included watching the giraffes and elephants with their babies and a very sleepy tiger in the hot weather. The children loved their visit to a very spectacular butterfly house. Thank you to all the parent helpers for accompanying the staff on a very hot and sweaty day!

Safety Banner Competition: Thank you to those children who have already submitted their banners. We have extended the deadline so that more children can enter. Please see attached letter for more information.

Accident-Free in CSG: Road Safety & Ideas For Next Year?
We hope your year 1 and 2 children are finding the Footsteps training helpful? We are still seeing children running accompanied along School Lane on the road, so please do continue to reiterate the importance of road safety on your travels! Or talk to anyone else who drops them off?

We have been swapping notes with other local schools and have some great ideas for initiatives next year. We'd also love to hear your suggestions. Please contact Carolyn Ley if you have any thoughts and/or if you can help as and when you have time.

This week the following cars were parked illegally on double yellow lines on Silver Hill or unsafely around the Memorial Hall and School Lane.
