A huge thank you to Mr Plumridge, Mrs Gregorek and Mr Walker-Williams who kindly donated their time to sand and repaint our benches. They look fantastic and we are lucky to have such a supportive parent body.
Arts Week: The children have had a very creative week. They sketched and made their own instruments which they played together in assembly today. The children also really enjoyed watching the excellent dance demonstration by girls from Dr Challoner's High School on Tuesday and today's amazing band perfomance from students from The Misbourne School. The children loved listening to all the different songs and explanations about all the different instruments. A huge thank you to Mrs Watt for organising the week's activities.
World Book Day: As our theme this year is 'Pirates', the children are making hats to wear. If you have any empty cereal boxes at home please could you bring them to the school office. Thank you.
Footsteps Training: Footsteps is a practical pedestrian training scheme for young children, which develops awareness of roads and helps them live safely with traffic. Children are taken into the local area with a trained tutor to observe the traffic and discuss road safety.
The training courses are being held on Thursday 25th April at the council offices in Amersham or Friday 26th April at County Hall in Aylesbury. On both days the course starts at 9.30am. If you are interested in supporting our children with this, please contact the school office.
Pick Up: Parents must come into the playground in order for their child to be dismissed at the end of the day.
Momo Challenge: There has been a lot of discussion of the Momo Challenge in the media in recent weeks. This has been exposed as a hoax - see news item here - but please do talk with your children about internet safety and be aware of what sites they are using and how they can stay safe online. Our E-safety for parents website page gives further guidance.
Nursery Parents Information Meeting: This is a maths based talk and is being held on Wednesday 6th March from 11am until 11.35am in the School Hall.
School Crossing Patroller Vacancy: Bucks County Council are still advertising for a crossing patroller for the Deanway crossing - if you or someone you know is interested please see details here.
Accident-Free in CSG: Did you see the message from the police?
If you are parking illegally on the double yellow lines on Silver Hill or reversing into the end of School Lane, please read the message from Thames Valley Police attached. They will be monitoring this area in conjunction with traffic wardens and won't hesitate to issue fines and points on your licence.
Those parking inconsiderately as above (or in Memorial Hall) may be newer to the school and not appreciate how many near-miss accidents we have seen in the past. We want to keep all children safe, including yours.
Our leadership team will be patrolling and are keen to understand if you have extenuating circumstances and are unable to walk the few minutes from outside our Safety Zone.
We urge the vehicles below to find safe and considerate parking away from School Lane/Silver Hill double yellows:
White Mercedes **** Black VW ****
White Ford **** Navy VW ****
Silver Ford **** Blue Ford ****
