Helping our Community

Dear Parents and Carers,

In these challenging times we think it is important to remember that there are others who are less fortunate than ourselves. As a school we are aware of a number of families who are in difficult circumstances and will need help over the coming weeks.

We have contacted the Trustees of the Nurse Bott Fund( a local charity) and they have agreed to fund some financial support for these families.

We have made contact with a local group of volunteers- their information is at the bottom of this email. We will ensure that our vulnerable families have this information.

We would like to invite all families to donate some dried/ tinned foods/ cleaning products. This can be done by bringing items to the JUNIOR SCHOOL from where we will sort and distribute the packs to all our identified families across the two schools. Donations can start coming in now.

If you are aware of a family who you believe need help please contact us.

If  your family needs help please contact us.

All donations need to be in school by tomorrow lunchtime.

Thank you everyone in anticipation of your help.

Village support information:

A group has been set up in the village for those who want to help others who are self-isolating. Information is on the Chalfont St Giles Information and Selling Facebook page and there is a WhatsApp group co-ordinated by Louise Chamberlain. Volunteers are putting leaflets through doors throughout the village with their name and contact details, offering to be a contact point if help is needed. If you would like to volunteer for this, please contact one of our governors, Eleanor O'Connor, and she will be pleased to direct you to the group and provide you with the relevant paperwork for printing.

Alternatively, if you are/will be self-isolating and need assistance, and have not seen one of the leaflets dropped through your door yet, please contact Eleanor and she'll put you in touch with someone who can help.

You can also arrange deliveries from Fruits & Roots, Warner’s Butchers, Stratton Bakery and Yalden’s and the Feathers Pub can provide a list of trades who will come out for emergencies. The pub is also organising a collection box for locals to put non perishable food items in and can deliver to people if needed.
