CSG Village School Update 17th March 2020

Dear Parents/Carers

As many of you are aware the Government guidelines that were issued yesterday now state:

“if you live with others and you or one of them have symptoms of coronavirus, then all household members must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days. The 14-day period starts from the day when the first person in the house becomes ill.”

We therefore ask that if anyone in your house should develop either:

· A new and persistent cough

· A high temperature

That you remain in self-isolation and notify us of the situation.

The health and safety of our staff and children is our absolute priority and we ask that you are considerate of this. Should you be asked to isolate, please be considerate of those still at school and the situation they are in.

School Visitors

At this point can we request that no parent/visitor comes into school to read or work with the children at either site.

Future Events

Year 5 and 6 Residential Trips

We understand that there is a great deal of anxiety amongst some parents concerning these trips. Advice from the Government is changing daily. At this stage we are asking that you please bear with us. We are in continuous contact with the relevant suppliers and agencies. As these trips are not due to take place for several weeks, the companies are currently handling a large number of enquiries from those whose travel is more imminent. We are not going to be able to finalise any information until after the Easter holidays.

Little Walkers plans to continue with their provision until there is a formal closure announced by the government.

For externally run clubs, who hire our premises, please can you contact your club/lesson providers regarding their plans.

All school run clubs will finish at the end of this week.

Learning at home

Plans are in place to ensure that learning can continue at home. Children who are sent home will bring a ‘learning at home’ book along with all their passwords for online access and any packs that the children might need. Parents will receive a learning guide via email. This guide will include suggested activities and signposting to the relevant online resources. Should a closure be announced then the same arrangements will apply for all children.

As soon as any future closure is confirmed we will contact parents/carers via email.

We understand that some children are feeling anxious about the virus. Attached is a pdf resource which you may find helpful. Please also take a look at our website where there are plenty of resources to help build resilience in children.

We would like to thank you for your ongoing support and understanding at this time. Please be reassured that everybody’s health and wellbeing is our priority.

Kind regards

Mrs E Peal & Staff
