On Tuesday the 17th October 2017 ten year four children went to a sports festival at Davenies School. We joined in with activities such as: tug of war, relay runs, coconut shy, penalty shootout, basketball shooting and bean bag throwing.
We had a lot of fun and we managed to come in third place, we were rewarded with key rings during the presentation and certificates in our awards assembly!
Thank you to Miss Murray and Miss Warner for supporting us!
Report written by Charlotte & Dylan (Year 4 Sports Council Representatives)
The ‘Superstars’ events require some individual running, throwing, catching and kicking skills but, as importantly, the games are designed to encourage teams to work together towards completing the task as successfully as they can.
I would suggest your pupils wear their normal PE kit (with a sweatshirt, maybe), ensuring that they bring with them clean training shoes (no studded footwear, please).
Please inform your parents that there is no on-site parking at Davenies for them. They can use either the 2 hours of free parking in Sainsbury’s in the new town of Beaconsfield or they look for alternative parking elsewhere and walk in. I would envisage a maximum walk of 10 minutes from any direction. Our ‘Sainsbury’s Gate’ will be open to allow parents to walk into Davenies from the Sainsbury’s car park. This is located at the far left hand corner of the car park.
There will be tea and a short presentation in the dining room for all pupils, staff and spectators. Our approximate end time will be 5pm.
