Junior - Weekly email (Sent on Friday 5th October 2018)

Dear all

A huge thank you to everyone who donated time or cakes or money to our Macmillan coffee morning - we raised £333.36 for the local Macmillan charity.

Year 6 had their Greek workshop with History off the Page on Tuesday - we hope they enjoyed learning about the Greeks - many thanks to the parents who volunteered their time to help during the morning. Our U11s football team played a league match against Woodside School on Tuesday - we had a comfortable 2-1 win against this team and the match report will be added to the school blog shortly. Well done to all of the players.

Year 4 have been at Woodrow High House this week  - they have been very fortunate with the weather and they have enjoyed a whole range of team building and outdoor activities as shown on their blog posts. Thank you to the staff who have organised and supported this trip especially Miss Balaam, Miss Warner, Miss Sells and Mrs Salmon. They may all be a little tired!

Zebra crossing - we have been advised by Bucks CC that the crossing on Deanway will not be repainted until the rest of the work has been completed on the Deanway. This may be up to two weeks. Please can you ensure that there is an adult to assist with your child if they cross the Deanway on their way to school.

PTA events - all PTA events will now be promoted and organised via Classlist so it is really important that you sign up if you wish to take part in or be aware of their activities at school. Your class parent and PTA should ONLY be communicating with you via the Classlist website and application. If you have not already joined then please do so by downloading the Classlist App and requesting to join our school groups.

Uniform Update - we are aware that many parents are still experiencing long delays in receiving school uniform from School Trends. We understand and share your frustrations - the launch of an on-line supply of school uniform was intended to improve the supply of uniform and we have been badly let down by our supplier in this regard. Please be assured that we are actively looking to rectify the situation and are hoping to have a new supplier confirmed in the next week or two. In the meantime, if you have outstanding orders from School Trends and are happy to wait for delivery, please do so. Please do not place any new orders with School Trends. We have limited supply of new school uniform and PE kit and also second hand uniform which will be available in the dining hall on Friday 12th October 8.45am-9.15am. Please be assured that we are fully aware of the issues and children will not be reprimanded for any uniform issues caused by the supplier.

Library - the library is now open again for children at lunchtimes. If you would like to volunteer to help in the library please contact the School Office.

Year 5 - as part of a fire safety workshop being run by Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service we will have a fire engine visiting our school on Monday afternoon - please please do not park on Parsonage Road on Monday afternoon so that the engine can get to the gate at the top of Parsonage Road. Many thanks.
