Junior - Weekly email (sent on Friday 30th November)

Dear All

We hope that Year 5 enjoyed the Cross Country Festival at Amersham School on Tuesday. It was lovely to see some former pupils helping at the festival as Sports Leaders. On Thursday our football team took part in a tournament at Wycombe College organised by Wycombe Wanderers. The team all played well and won most of their group games. Thank you to parents who provided lifts for the players.

Road Safety posters - the winning entries for our poster competition are shown on the website here. keep your eyes peeled for the new banners that will be going up soon. Congratulations and thank you to Annie and Lyzette for their winning designs.

EcoWarriors/ Outdoor learning news - as part of Switch Off Fortnight our EcoWarriors have reported a definite reduction in electricity consumption over the weeks that they were monitoring over Switch Off Fortnight. We hope that everyone in school will continue to switch off lights and computers when not in use. Our Eco Warriors website page has recently been updated.

Tree project - details of our tree project have been added to the website - each class has their own tree and we will be tree dressing on 14th December - if you have any items that might be useful (see wish list here) please can they be brought to the school office by Wednesday 12th December. Bowstridge Car Park (by playing fields) - message from Clerk to Chalfont St Giles Parish Council. For the next three weeks there will be works in the recreation ground to move power cables from overhead to underground. The majority of this work will be along the track from the car park to the Bowling Club, however there will be a need to restrict access to the car park when the trenches are dug over the car park entrance. This work will be completed as quickly as possible. During these works please ensure that your children stay away from the machinery being used and beware around the trenches.  Please also leave extra time for your journeys to allow for possible delays.
