Junior - Weekly Email

Dear All

We are now almost at the end of the academic year. We have had several special assemblies this week with the cheerleaders showing us their routines and a range of musicians sharing their music with us. Year 6 went to CCC where, despite the heavy rain, they managed a full day of sporting activities. We have had the hilarious Year 6 performance of The Pirates of the Curry Bean and seen some of the many and varied hobbies and interests on show at Hobbies Day this morning.

We are all looking forward to the PTA BBQ tonight - hope that you all have your entries in to take part in the competitions! A huge thank you to Mrs Edmunds and the rest of the PTA for all of the work that has gone into planning and organising this event. All gates will be open for access to the BBQ this evening.

Year 6 Bouncy Fun Day - For Year 6 Fun Day this year, we have a number of activities on site on Tuesday 18th July. These will include a bouncy castle and water games. All Year 6 children should come to school wearing comfortable clothes and be prepared for warm weather by bringing in suncream and sun hats. Children will also need to bring in a change of clothing suitable for water based activities (with long sleeves) plus a towel and a bag to pop their wet clothes into. Lunch will be included as part of their Bouncy Day, however, if your child is a fussy eater please send in a packed lunch.

Readers in Class - many thanks to all of the readers who have helped in school during this academic year. We very much value the help and support that you have provided this year and we hope to see many of you again in the Autumn term. We do not require any readers in school this week.

Head lice - we are still having reported cases of head lice in school - please remember to check your child's hair regularly and treat any eggs or lice that you may find.

Lost property - we accumulate a lot of lost property during each term and sadly end up with a lot of items that are not labelled. Any items in the lost property box at the end of term will be recycled as spares or disposed off via local charity shops or the bin as appropriate. Please do remember to ensure that any items of clothing or kit are clearly labelled.

Return of medication held in school - any medicines that we keep in school for children will be returned on Friday 21st. Please contact Miss Clowes in the School Office if you wish to collect meds directly from the office - either on Friday before 2pm or earlier in the week if you know that your child will not be in school on Friday. Unless prior arrangements have been made all medicines held in school will be sent home via children.

Village Library - Summer Reading Challenge flyer is attached. Please note that the library is re-opening on the 18th July.
