Infant - Weekly reminder (w/c 10th September)

Dear Parent/Carer,

Welcome back!  We hope you have all had a lovely summer and are looking forward to another exciting year ahead. An extra warm welcome to all of those joining us for the first time.

Parent Governor Vacancies: Please see the attached letters.

Gymnastic Club for Yrs 1&2Springbucks Gymnastics Club is coming to Chalfont St Giles Infants! We will be starting a Thursday gymnastics session during lunch break, starting on Thursday 20th September. The club will initially open to all those in school years 1 – 2, opening up to Reception children in the Spring and Summer Terms depending on availability of places.

The session will be beginners/intermediate gymnastics and will focus on working through an award scheme where the children can achieve badges and certificates and introducing gymnastics skills in a fun, safe and encouraging environment. For more information about term dates, prices and how to sign up for the club please see the attached letter. We only have 16 spaces available for gym club and places will be given on a first come, first served basis so book in asap to avoid disappointment!

Class Parent Reps: due to GDPR regulations we are not able to pass on details of parents. We will be using Class List software this year for such communications and this will be launched to parent reps once they have been confirmed. If you would like to be a class rep please contact your class teacher.

School Dates: Please see the attached calendar. This list is not exhaustive and is subject to change. The information will also be available via the school app.

Allergen Sheets for Weeks 3,4,5 and 6: Please see attached

Accident-Free In CSG: Keeping our children safe on the school run.

As part of our Parking Promise, you have committed to avoiding our ‘Safety Zone’. That means not driving up or parking on School Lane. We’ve had alarming near-misses in the past and take this very seriously.

You’ll be asked to help a few times per year with parking patrol - for just 20 minutes. Thanks to Emerald Class for kicking off the rota.

All Nursery and Reception families will be given a parking permit for Blizzards Yard in the village, so you can park and stride from outside our Safety Zone. If you already have a permit please continue to use this as the dates on the permits have not expired. If you require a permit please contact the office who will be happy to provide you with one.

If you need to park in the village please ensure you park considerately of our neighbors and bear in mind that the current building works on the Deanway are causing a number of problems.

From next Friday we’ll report details of vehicles parked inconsiderately or dangerously on School Lane. If you think you are exempt from the Parking Promise and need to park on School Lane (eg for mobility issues), please contact the office so we are aware and park considerately ie not over the T bar or blocking our ‘Crossing Corner’.
