Infant - Weekly email Friday 6th July

Dear Parent/Carer,

Sports Week:  The children have taken part in many sporting events over the course of the week and should be very proud of all their efforts especially in this heat! Thank you to Mrs O'Dwyer for organising the week.

CSG Village Show:  This year there will be a talent contest on the Community Arena on Saturday 1st September, please see the attached a flyer for more details.

School Lunches: Please ensure that all reply slips are returned to school by Monday 9th July.

Primary Leaders Engineering Award: You may remember that during our STEM week the children entered the Primary Leaders Engineering Award competition. The children had to think about the question 'If you were an engineer, what would you do?' and design a machine to solve a problem. There were over 60,000 entries in this competition and we are thrilled to announce that Jasper in Reception was one of only 15 winners. He attended the awards day at Southampton University with his family where his work was on display and received a certificate and a trophy. Well done Jasper, a huge achievement!

Reading Challenge: Please the attached flyer for information regarding this year's Summer Reading Challenge.

PTA Activities:

Leaver’s Assembly
We look forward to joining Year 2 parents for Thursday’s (emotional) Leaver’s Assembly.  The PTA will be providing tea, coffee & tissues!

Dad’s To School Cafe
Please join us on Friday 13th for the final Breakfast Cafe this academic year from 8.15am in the Memorial Hall.  We would like to encourage as many Dads (& others too!) to come along.  The wonderful PTA will be cooking fabulous sausage/bacon rolls plus all the usual goodies you’ve come to enjoy.  Bring the kids in from 8.15 and cime back in after reading as we’ll be there until 10am!

Accident-Free in CSG:
Please can we keep up the good work?

After the terrific efforts by so many of you, it's disapointing to hear that vehicles have been parking on the double yellow lines on Silver Hill. If this persists, we can alert the parking warden, consider parking patrol in this area again.

This week the cars below were parked inconsiderately on School lane. Please don't block the crossing corner next to the Keep Clear and find considerate parking outside the Safety Zone.
